Research Of The Relationship Between Serum Vitamin D Nutritional Status And The Cardiovascular Disease Risk In East China Young Adults

Objective: vitamin D deficiency has recently been linked to cardiovascular risk.However,the evidence and the distribution of vitamin D are still inconclusive in Chinese adolescents.Method: 5,448 adolescent participants from East China were estimated,the self-administered questionnaire was recruited to assess sunlight exposure status.Lipids,25 OHD and related parameters were measured with blood sample.We employed comprehensive sunlight exposure score as the instrumental variable(IV).Result: serum levels of 25 OHD were escalated with the frequency of outdoor physical exercises increase: weekly exercise status(Regularly: 26.97 ±4.75ng/mL,p<0.001);Leisure time(Sportive: 26.51 ± 5.22ng/mL,p=0.001);Daily standing time(?2h: 25.64 ± 5.36ng/mL,p=0.018);Average walking steps every day(>10000 steps/day: 26.11 ± 5.01ng/mL,p=0.006);Sunlight exposure(Regularly:26.57 ± 4.96ng/mL,p<0.001)in males and weekly exercise status(Regularly: 22.29 ±5.03ng/mL,p<0.001);Leisure time(Sportive: 21.85 ± 4.77ng/mL,p=0.004);Daily standing time(?2h: 21.78 ± 5.17ng/mL,p=0.004);Average walking steps every day(>10000 steps/day: 21.94 ± 5.31ng/mL,p<0.001);Sunlight exposure(Regularly:21.78 ± 4.9ng/mL,p<0.002)in females.62.40% of males and 52.49% of females were found to have vitamin D deficiency in overall population.However,no correlation was found between 25 OHD with cardiovascular risk.Conclusions:25OHD deficiency is common among young adults of East China.High frequency sunlight exposure will contribute to reduce the prevalence of 25 OHD deficiency.Nevertheless,lowered serum 25 OHD is not associated with increased risk of cardiovascular.
