Objective:To compare the effects of low temperature plasma method and traditional surgical methods in children's tonsil and adenoid surgery. Methods: A total of 60 children with tonsil and adenoid hypertrophy admitted to our hospital from March 2017 to May 2018 were enrolled in the study.According to the different treatment methods, they were divided into two groups,A and B.example.Group A was treated with low-temperature plasma therapy, and group B was treated with traditional surgical methods. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results:Results In group A,there were 17 males and 13 females, aged 4-11 years old, with an average age of(6.89±2.12)years,a disease course of 1-5 years, and an average disease duration of(2.45±1.11)years.There were 18 cases and 12 females, aged 5-12 years, with an average age of(6.94±2.17)years,a disease course of 1-6 years, and an average disease duration of(2.51±1.15)years.There was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05),which was comparable. The pain scores of the first day and the third day after operation in the group A were significantly lower than those in the group B,and the difference between the groups was significant(P<0.05).The bleeding volume of group A was lower than that of group B.The operation time of group A was shorter than that of group B,and the difference between groups was significant(P<0.05).The effective rate of treatment was 90% in group A and 80% in group B.There was no significant difference between groups(p>0.05).The total incidence of complications in group A was 10%,and the incidence of complications in group B was 23.3%.The difference between groups was statistically significant(p<0.05).However,the incidence of postoperative bleeding was not significantly different between the two groups(p>0.05).Conclusion The low-temperature plasma method is superior to traditional surgical methods in children's tonsil and adenoid surgery. The therapeutic effect of the two methods is comparable. However, the former has less trauma to the child, less intraoperative blood loss, and more postoperative pain.Good, and the related complications are few.
