Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of RTS percutaneous spin-distraction pedicle screw fixation system for single-level thoracolumbar fracture type A.Method A total of 79 patients with type A thoracolumbar mono-segmental vertebral fracture without neurological deficit receiving treatment between March 2014 and June 2017 were enrolled. The RTS Minimally invasive pedicle screw fixation system was used for 39 patients(the RST group),and traditional fixation was performed for 40 patients(the traditional group). The VAS scores, radiological data(including vertebral anterior height, vertebral posterior height, and cobb angle)and operation data(operation time, blood loss, incision length, postoperative hospitalization time)were compared in this study. Results There were significant differences in blood loss, operation time, hospital stay and VAS score between the two groups(P < 0.05).Percentage of anterior height and central height of injured vertebraeincreased significantly immediately after operation(P < 0.05)and Cobb angle decreased significantly(P < 0.05).The sagittal Cobb angle of the normal group changed to 5.45±3.41°,and that of the RTS group changed to11.02 ± 2.35 °(P<0.05)in sagittal plane(P<0.05).The change rate of vertebral anterior height in the general group was 10.62±5.50% and 19.48±2.88% in the RTS group(P<0.05).The change rate of vertebral central height in the general group was 6.99±3.86% and 11.78±5.56% in the RTS group(P<0.05).The recovery of Cobb angle after operation in the two groups was significantly different from that of Percentage of anterior height and central height of injured vertebrae. Conclusion Compared with ordinary pedicle screw,RTS spinal system can restore vertebral height more effectively and steadily, especially the anterior edge height of vertebral body, restore normal Cobb angle, reduce kyphosis deformity and relieve postoperative pain.
