Objevtive: To study the physical growth characteristics and the variation trend of the weight difference of birthweight discordant twins(BDT)by extracting and analyzing data of twins of Child Health Care system of Children's hospital of Chongqing Medical University. Methods: R 3.5.3 was used to clean up the database and complete the fitted curve of physical growth index.SPSS 19.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results: A total of 916 pairs of twins were extract from Child Health Care System, including 141 pairs of BDT,accounting for 15.4%.The degree of birthweight difference in BDT concentrates on range of 20%~30%,and the degree of birthweight difference in premature BDT was higher than that of full-term BDT(t=3.820,p<0.001).The weight, height, head circumference and BMI of lighter BDT were lower than those of birthweight accordant twins, heavier BDT and WHO average level, and the growth trend of each group was different. The weight difference at the last follow-up was smaller than that at birth. At the last follow-up,the physical deviation of BDT was dominated by short stature and low body weight, and a small number of twins also have emaciation on the basis of low body weight and short stature. Conclusion: the morbidity of BDT in this study is similar to that reported abroad.Proportion of low or very low birthweight is higher in group of lighter BDT,and their catch-up growth and physical growth level is worse than other twins and the average level of WHO.In most cases, the weight difference of BDT decreased with age than at birth. The genetic background and the growth environment after birth of a twin pair are similar. The difference of intrauterine growth environment and the adverse perinatal factors of twins may have a long-lasting influence on the long-term growth and development of twins. We should monitor the growth status of BDT and intervene in time if necessary. The data of the department of child health care, obstetrics and neonatology should be further enhanced to facilitate the combination of perinatal high-risk factors in the monitoring process of child health care and provide targeted guidance according to the perinatal situation.
