Clinicalanalysis Of Epilepsy With Focal Cortical Dysplasia In Thirty Children

Objective: To explore the clinical features of epilepsy with focal cortical dysplasia in children.Methods: We collected the clinical data of 30 focal cortical dysplasia admitted by children’s hospital of chongqing medical university between July 2013 to July 2018,including seizure types,brain MRI,pathologicaltype,electroencephalogram,treatment and outcome.Results: Seizure types of the 30 children included 10 case of focal seizures,7 of tonic-clonic seizures,1 of absence seizure,1 of epileptic spasm,8 of secondarily generalized seizures,2 of focal seizures and absence seizures,1 of tonic-clonic seizures and absence seizure.Brain MRI mainly showed cortical thickening,obscuration of the grey matter-white matter junction,abnormal cerebral sulcus morphology,cortical or subcortical T2 Flair hyperintensity.EEG showed normal in 4 cases and epileptic discharge in 26.The effect of single-agent or combination medication was not satisfactory,and the clinical effect of postoperative was67.9%.Conclusion: The main seizure types of focal cortical dysplasia arefocal seizures.EEG shows focal discharge.Brain MRI is important for the diagnosis focal cortical dysplasia.If the curative effect of AEDs is poor,the epilepsy surgeries should be considered.
