Background:Chronic prostatitis is a common and frequently-occurring disease in adult males, accounting for the majority of the outpatient visits in the department of urology. However, the pathogenesis of chronic prostatitis is still unclear, and the treatment methods are various and inaccurate.Studies have shown that massage of traditional Chinese medicine can effectively alleviate the symptoms of patients, and its theoretical basis is mostly the theory of meridians and collaterals of traditional Chinese medicine. There is no clinical research on massage therapy from modern medical theory. Objective:This study carries out observation for clinical efficacy on treating chronic prostatitis through the use of groin joint lower abdominal massage,in comparison with the traditional method. To evaluate the effectiveness from the NIH-CPSI(micturition symptom scores, pain score, the quality of life score and total score),prostate fluid routine inspection, palpation of prostate of lecithin corpuscle number in score several aspects, thus,to provide a practical and effective method for the treatment of chronic prostatitis. Methods:Cases in this study are 118 patients with chronic prostatitis who attend urology surgical department or andrology department from October 1st 2017 to December 31 2017,patients met qualified criteria were randomly divided into control group and observation group. The control group was treated with transanal prostate massage plus anti-infection therapy. The observation group was treated with groin massage combined with lower abdomen massage on the basis of the control group for 4 weeks. To evaluate the change of NIH-CPSI(urination symptom score, pain score, quality of life score, total score),the number of lecithin corpuscles in routine examination of prostatic fluid and the palpation score of prostate before and after treatment. Results:Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in general conditions, such as age, course of disease,NIHCPSI(urination symptom score, pain score, quality of life score, total score),number of lecithins in routine examination of prostatic fluid, and palpation score of prostate. After treatment, both the observation group and the control group were able to reduce NIH-CPSI(urinary symptom score, pain score, quality of life score, total score),increase the number of lecithin bodies, and decrease the prostate palpation score. There were significant differences in NIH-CPSI(urination symptom score, quality of life score, total score),the number of lecithin corpuscles and the palpation score of prostate between the observation group and the control group(P < 0.05).There was no statistically significant reduction in NIH-CPSI(pain score)between the two groups. In the control group,4 cases were cured,9 cases were obviously effective,10 cases were effective, and the total effective rate was 54.8%.In the observation group,12 cases were cured,18 cases were significantly effective,11 cases were effective, and 6 cases were ineffective, with a total effective rate of 89.4%.The comparison of efficacy between the two groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The efficacy of groin combined with lower abdomen massage + transanal prostate massage + anti-infection treatment was better than transanal prostate massage + anti-infection treatment. Conclusions:The effect of groin massage combined with lower abdominal massage in the treatment of chronic prostatitis is better than that of anal prostatic massage in the treatment of chronic prostatitis, and has no obvious side effects. The methods of observation group had advantages in improving the symptoms of urinary discomfort, quality of life and palpation of prostate.
