Objective:To investigate the clinical value of whole-body low-dose CT(WBLDCT)in the diagnosis and staging of multiple myeloma(MM).Methods:The imaging data of 58 patients with multiple myeloma confirmed by clinical pathology in our hospital were collected. All the patients were examined with low dose CT,X-ray and whole-body bone imaging. The distribution of bone lesions in low dose CT was compared with X-ray and bone imaging, and the detection rate was compared with the other two modalities At the same time, according to the Durie/Salmon plus staging system and the ISS staging system, and the consistency between them was compared. Results:There was a significant difference in the distribution of bone damage between low-dose CT examination,X-ray examination and bone imaging(all P<0.001),and the detection rate was significantly higher than that of X-ray examination(P<0.001),and there was no significant difference between low-dose CT examination and bone imaging(P>0.05).X-ray examination showed that the main sites were rib and flat bone, limb bone, spine and skull had a lower proportion of damage; The main lesions of the whole body-low-dose CT examination were the spine and ribs, while the proportion of flat bone, limb bone and skull injury was low;The main bone lesions of the bone imaging examination were ribs, followed by the spine, while the pelvis, limb bone, skull, sternum, scapula and clavicle showed a lower proportion of damage;the consistency of whole-body low-dose CT and X-ray examination was “very low”,the consistency of whole-body low-dose CT and systemic bone imaging was “moderate”,and the Durie/Salmon plus staging and the clinical ISS staging had“moderate”consistency.Conclusion:1 Whole-body low-dose CT scan can better evaluate bone damage than X-ray and bone imaging. It is expected to replace traditional X-ray and become the preferred imaging tool for MM screening.2 Whole-body low-dose CT scan can better evaluate MM staging, and provide some help for the choice of MM treatment plan.
