Objective: To observe the effect of Tangzu granule foot soak on clinical symptoms and infrared thermography of diabetic high-risk foot patients, evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Tangzu granule, and discuss the treatment of diabetic high-risk foot with collateral pathology theory. Methods: According to the random number table,66 patients who met the diagnostic criteria of high-risk diabetic foot were randomly divided into two groups.Because of rejection, omission, and other reasons, there were 30 cases in the test group and 30 cases in the control group. To keep the original treatment plan unchanged, the test group was given a foot soak with the Tangzu Granule while the control group was given a foot soak with warm water, each for 30 minutes, once a day, with an interval of three months.Simultaneously, the two groups had health education to guide their nursing, adjust their emotions,to eat healthy, etc. On the first day before the interval and on the first day after the interval, the changes of clinical symptoms, signs, and related indicators(including infrared thermography inspections, routine blood tests, etc.)were assessed.Adverse reactions to the treatment were recorded. All data were statistically analyzed by SPSS 23.0 software.Results:(1)Comparison of the clinical symptom scores: The total effective rate of the experimental group was 90.0%,whereas the total effective rate of the control group was 23.3%.The experimental group appeared to have more success than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).(2)Comparison of the infrared thermography inspections: Compared within the groups, the skin temperature of the two lower limbs(foot anterior, foot posterior, shin, calf, and foot plantar)in the test group increased significantly before the interval, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.01).In the control group, the skin temperature was higher than that before the interval, and the foot anterior and plantar difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The foot posterior, shin, and calf skintemperature was not significantly significant(P>0.05).The skin temperature of both lower limbs(foot anterior, foot posterior, shin, calf, and foot plantar)was higher in the test group than in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)Safety evaluation: The routine blood, urine and stool tests, the liver and kidney function, and the electrocardiogram of the two groups before and after the treatment were all within the normal range. There were no adverse reactions or events during the entire study period.Conclusion:(1)High-risk diabetic foot belongs to the class of disease known as the Xiaoke(high thirst and urination)collaterals diseases.Qi deficiency, blood stasis, and collaterals disharmony are all key to pathogenesis.Invigorating qi,and promoting blood flow to purge the collaterals are the basic treatment methods;(2)The Tangzu Granule can effectively relieve symptoms and improve the local temperature of patients with high-risk diabetic foot, which is positively significant in the prevention of ulcer formation in diabetic foot;(3)The efficacy of Tangzu Granule in the treatment of high-risk diabetic foot may be related to the compatibility and processing of traditional Chinese medicine and the physicochemical actions of water.;(4)The Tangzu Granule is safe and non-toxic to use for the treatment of high-risk diabetic foot.
