Objective: To investigate the clinical features of rheumatoid arthritis complicated with multiple myeloma. Methods: A case of rheumatoid arthritis with Kappa light chain multiple myeloma was reported. Results: Rheumatoid arthritis combined with multiple myeloma is relatively rare in clinical practice. When multiple myeloma occurs in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, their clinical manifestations are complex and changeable, which are easy to be neglected. Therefore,it is necessary for multidisciplinary physicians to improve their understanding of multiple myeloma and its related complications.Especially when patients with rheumatoid arthritis present the typical CRAB symptom(i.e.elevated blood calcium, renal insufficiency, anemia and bone destruction),and doctors should be on high alert to the occurrence of multiple myeloma. Conclusions: Rheumatoid arthritis may be related to the occurrence of multiple myeloma, but the specific link between rheumatoid arthritis and multiple myeloma is still unclear.Since rheumatoid arthritis exists about 1-40 years earlier than multiple myeloma, tumor related indicators should be screened at least 1 year after rheumatoid arthritis was clearly diagnosed in order to enable patients to receive timely diagnosis and treatment and improve the quality of life of patients.
