Objective: To summarize the clinical experience of Bentall operation for aortic root lesions and evaluate the early effect of Bentall operation objectively. Methods:The clinical data of 35 patients who underwent Bentall operation in our hospital from September 2014 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. In this group,27 patients underwent Bentall operation alone and 8 patients underwent Bentall operation combined with other operations at the same time.Detailed analysis of the patient's case data, summarized the perioperative observation indicators, discussed the key to success of the operation, analyzed the causes of complications and treatment measures, and compared the changes of echocardiography before and after operation.Result:All the patients survived early after Bentall operation. There were 7 complications after operation, including 1 malignant arrhythmia,2 low cardiac output syndrome,2 renal insufficiency,1 nervous system complication and 1 pulmonary infection. All the complications were improved after active treatment.Bentall operation combined with other operations resulted in early death in 3 cases.Postoperative complications occurred in 3 cases, including malignant arrhythmia in 1 case, low cardiac output syndrome in 1 case and pulmonary infection in 1 case. All patients died after active treatment. After operation,28 patients were followed up by telephone or outpatient clinic for 3 to 36 months. The cardiac function of the patients reached grade I to II,and the quality of life improved significantly. The left ventricular end-diastolic dimension(LVEDD)of patients after operation was significantly reduced compared with that before operation, and there was a significant difference(P < 0.05).Conclusion:1 Bentall operation is a classical operation for aortic root lesions with high success rate and good effect.2 Left ventricular preload decreased after Bentall operation, and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter decreased significantly at early stage after Bentall operation compared with that before Bentall operation.3 Bentall operation combined with other operations at the same time belongs to high-risk operation.Such patients should be treated in more experienced cardiovascular surgery centers.
