| Objective:To evaluate therapeutic efficacy and safety of gabapentin vs.carbamazepine in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia,in order to provide evidence-based reference for clinical treatment.Methods:PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Library,CBM,CNKI,VIP and WANFANG DATA were searched with Computer from the establishment of the database to January 2019,collecting the randomized controlled trials(RCT)about the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia with Gabapentin(experimental group)and Carbamazepine(control group)comprehensively.Documents were screened strictly according to inclusion and exclusion criteria,and the quality of the included documents was evaluated by risk bias evaluation tools of Cochrane Collaboration Network.Rev Man 5.3 statistical software was used for the meta-analysis.Results:A total of 15 RCTs were included,totaling 1222 patients.The Meta-analysis showed that the visual analogue scale(VAS)of the experimental group after treatment was lower than that of the control group,with statistical significance [SMD =-0.63,95% CI(-1.08,-0.19),P = 0.005].The total clinical effective rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group,with statistical significance [OR = 1.73,95% CI(1.31,2.30),P = 0.0001].The incidence of adverse reactions of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group,with statistical significance [OR = 0.28,95% CI(0.21,0.37),P?0.00001].The life satisfaction index B(LSI-B)of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group after treatment,and the difference was statistically significant [MD=4.29,95%CI(3.14,5.45),P<0.00001].Conclusion:The current evidence demonstrates that Gabapentin is effective in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia and is superior to carbamazepine in the treatment efficacy and safety.Due to limited quality and quantity of the included studies,more high-quality studies are needed to verify above conclusions. |
