Objective:Meta analysis was used to compare the clinical efficacy of locking plate and intramedullary nail in the treatment of proximal humeral fractures. Methods:Retrieval Pubmed, the Cochrane Library,Embase,China hownet, ten thousand medical network, weipu database, collect locked intramedullary nail and compression plate in the treatment of proximal humeral fractures in literature, literature into and exclusion criteria, the selected literature to extract data, choose continuous variables(Constant score, operation time, blood loss)and binary classification variables(total complications, postoperative infection, screw cutout and internal fixation failure, humerus head necrosis, secondary surgery, shoulder peak impact)were analyzed, and the evaluation index as a meta analysis.Statistical software Stata12.0 was used to analyze the data. Results:A total of 8 articles and 891 patients were included, and 9 data were analyzed. The amount of bleeding(SMD=-1.82 95%CI:-2.77--0.87 P < 0.001)and the operative time(SMD=-1.47 95%CI:-2.13--0.80 P < 0.001)in the intramedullary nail group were smaller than those in the steel plate group. The rest of the results were not statistically significant. Conclusion:Intramedullary nailing is superior to locking plate in operative time and intraoperative blood loss in the treatment of proximal humeral fractures. The results were similar in total complication rate, common complication rate and postoperative recovery of shoulder jointfunction.
