Objective:To explore the correlation between testosterone level and blood lipid level by measuring and analysing the levels of testosterone and blood lipid level in middle-aged and elderly male,so as to provide theoretical evidence for male late-onset hypogonadism early prevention.Methods:Collecting the blood samples of male,age between 40-80,in Shanxi Medical University First Affiliated Hospital physical examination center,from March 2018 to October 2018,eliminate the samples as below:(1)taking lipid-lowering or steroid drugs within half month before test(2)severe anemia(3)blood pressure>140/90mmHg(4)history of alcoholism(5)malignant tumor(6)reproductive system diseases(7)severe liver,kidney and lung dysfunction(8)endocrine system diseases(9)X syndrome(10)Taking hormone-related drugs within one month.Collecting the samples and record each age,height,body weight and BMI,and all these blood samples were taken in the early morning at 8 am and send to test the testosterone,total cholesterol,triglyceride,low density lipoprotein cholesterol,high density lipoprotein cholesterol,ApolipoproteinA1,ApolipoproteinB concentration.The data were divided into low testosterone group(<12nmol/L,14 cases)and normal group(12-34nmol/L,32 cases).Analysis the correlation between serum testosterone and blood lipid levels by using Wilcoxon signed-rank test,Spearman's rank correlation analysis and multiple linear regression.Results:1.General data comparison,the low testosterone group body weight and height are higher than the normal group,the difference has achieved statistically significant(P<0.05).2.In the comparison of testosterone and serum lipid,in the low testosterone group the high density lipoprotein cholesterol is higher than the normal group,the difference has achieved statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Low testosterone group: negative correlation between testosterone and total cholesterol,triglyceride,high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(P<0.05).Normal group:testosterone was negatively correlated with triglyceride(P<0.05).4.Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that triglyceride and body weight were negatively correlated with testosterone(P<0.05).Conclusion:For the middle aged and elderly people,the blood lipid level are related to serum testosterone level,serum testosterone reduction maybe associated with independently dyslipidemia.The elevated blood lipids maybe it is one of the risk factors for decreased serum testosterone and associated symptoms in late-onset hypogonadism patients,therefore it is very important to pay close attention to the serum testosterone levels and related symptoms in middle-aged and elderly men to maintaining the health of them.
