ObjectiveThis study evaluated the clinical efficacy of chloasma of spleen deficiency and dampness-accumulation type treated with abdominal acupuncture and facial scrapping by observing and evaluating the changes of skin lesion area and color as well as the score of major syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine.It would provide a safe,few side effects and easily accepted by patients' Chinese medicine treatment.MethodIn this study,70 patients with chloasma of spleen deficiency and dampness-accumulation type were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,and each group had 35 patients.The treatment group received the treatment of abdominal acupuncture and facial scrapping.Once a week for one treatment,continuous treatment for 2 months.The control group was treated with abdominal acupuncture and Hydroquinone Cream wipped on the skin lesions appropritately(day and night one time every day).Continuous treatment for 2 months.After the all treatment,the skin lesion area score,skin lesion color score,total score of skin lesion,and major syndrome score of traditional Chinese medicine were compared between the two groups before and after treatment,and the efficacy was evaluated.ResultsThe actual observation 66 cases,33 cases in each treatment group and control group.After treatment,the score of skin lesion area size,the score of skin lesion color,total score of skin lesion and the score of major syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine in both groups were lower than that before treatment(P<0.05),the difference of the scores before and after treatment in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).These indicated that both treatments could improve the skin lesion status and the clinical syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine of patients,while the degree of these scores in the treatment group were higher than that in the control group.The total effective rate of the treatment group was 81.82%,which was higher than that of the control group(66.67%)(P=0.027<0.05),showing that the therapeutic effect of the treatment group was more significant than that of the control group.ConclusionAbdominal acupuncture combined with facial scrapping for the treatment of chloasma of spleen deficiency and dampness-accumulation type has a significant effect,which can significantly improve the skin lesion status as well as the clinical syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine.It is worth widely used in clinical treatment.
