ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to observe and explore the clinical efficacy and safety of acupoint catgut embedding therapy combined with antiepileptic drugs in the treatment of drug-refractory epilepsy, and to provide ideas and theoretical basis for the treatment of refractory epilepsy patients with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine.MethodIn this study, the epilepsy center of Guangdong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was taken as the research center, and the outpatients or inpatients were taken as the observation objects.According to the diagnostic criteria, exclusion criteria and exclusion criteria of the research program,66 patients were enrolled and 15 patients were dropped out.Randomized control method was used.27 cases in the treatment group and 24 cases in the control group were treated with acupoint catgut embedding on the basis of antiepileptic drugs in the treatment group. The control group was treated with antiepileptic drugs only. The course of observation was 24 weeks. The number of epilepsy epilepsy epilepsy epilepsy epilepsy patients before and after treatment, life scale score,EEG score and syndrome score of Chinese medicine epilepsy were recorded.SPSS24.0 statistical software was used for statistics and comparison, and the objective effieacy of acupoint catgut embedding therapy on refractory epilepsy patients was analyzed.Result1.There were significant differences in the number of epileptic seizures between the treatment group and the control group before treatment(P<0.05 in the treatment group and P<0.05 in the control group). There was no significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).2.There was no significant difference in EEG score between the treatment group and the control group(P>0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).3.There were significant differences in the scores of life scale of epilepsy patients between the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05),and there were significant differences in the therapeutic effect between the two groups(P<0.05).4.There were significant differences in TCM syndrome scores between the treatment group and the control group(P<0.05),and there were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:Acupoint catgut embedding as an additional treatment has no obvious advantages in reducing the number of epileptic seizures and improving EEG results in drug-resistant patients, and its effect in quality of life score and alleviating clinical symptoms of seizures is significantly better than that of antiepileptic drugs alone. There are no allergic reactions or adverse events during treatment, suggesting that acupoint catgut embedding therapy has better safety and tolerance.
