ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of electromagnetic field and oral celecoxib capsules for the postoperative pain after a laparoscopic appendectomy, compared with no electromagnetic field treatment and better guide clinical practice of Chinese and western medicine.MethodAll observed patients were collected from January 2018 to January 2019 in the same hospital.74 participants diagnosed with acute appendicitis and scheduled for laparoscopic appendectomy will be ramdomly assigned to electromagnetic field and oral celecoxib capsules group(n=37)and oral celecoxib capsules group(n?35,2 dropped out because of the use of other analgesic methods). The electromagnetic field and oral celecoxib capsules group will receive 30-minutes-long magnetic field treatment at both regional and distal acupoints with electrostimulation at 6 hours,24 hours and 48 hours postoperative. Also the group members take celecoxib capsules for 2 days,200mg per day.The oral celecoxib capsules group will only receive routine treatment except electromagnetic field and take celecoxib capsules for 2 days,200mg per day.The primary outcome is the visual analogue scale pain(VAS)at 6 hours,24 hours and 48 hours after surgery. The secondary outcome is the Bmggrmann comfort scale(BCS)after anesthesia awake and at 48 hours postoperative. All the datum adopted SPSS 20.0 statistical software for analysis.Results1.The VAS sore before operation and before intervention postoperative and BCS score before intervention postoperative in two groups were compared by using the t test of independent samples. The difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05)·2.VAS scores over the preoperative period and the 48-hours postsurgical period were compared both within and between two groups. The overall rate of pain decrease in the electromagnetic field and oral celecoxib capsules group over 48 hours and faster than that in the oral celecoxib capsules group(P<0.05).3.The markedly effective rate of patients of the experimental group was 82.05%while the control group was 54.29%.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05)·4.The BCS scores in the electromagnetic field and oral celecoxib capsules group were higher than the BCS scores in the oral celecoxib capsules group at 48 hours after surgery(P<0.05).ConelusionThe study provides further evidence that electromagnetic field and oral celecoxib capsules can reduce pain levels in the postoperative period. As the results are comfirmed with more clinical studies, the current availability of both economical and disposable electromagnetic field could easily translate to many postsurgical situations.
