| Objective:The aim of this retrospective study was to assess the clinical outc ome of 2 different surgical approaches(laparotomy, laparoscopy)in the treatment of early-stage cervical cancer in obese patients. Methods:Clinical records of obese patients with early-stage cervical cancer treated from January 2016 to June 2018 were retrospectively analyzed.Eighty-eight patients were included in this study:52 patients were submitted to open radical hysterectomy(ORH group)and 36 to laparoscopic radical hysterectomy(LRH group). The operation time, postoperative hospital day, blood loss, postoperative hemoglobin decline, postoperative exhaust ti me,complications and number of resected-lymph nodes were observed. Results:T he 2 groups were similar in regard to clinical characteristics.Compared with the ARH group, the operation time of the LRH group were significantly prolonged(p<0.05),and the postoperative hospital day,the postoperative exhaust time wer e significantly shortened(p<0.05).Compared with ARH,the LRH group was safer in postoperative infection. There were no significant differences in the incidence of blood loss, postoperative hemoglobin decline, vascular injury, nerve injury, uri nary tract injury, deep vein thrombosis and number of resected-lymph nodes bet ween the two groups(p<0.05).The two groups were followed up for 5-35 mont hs(median,25.3months)with no recurrence and death. Conclusion:The effect of l aparoscopic radical hysterectomy on early-stage cervical cancer in obese patients is superior to abdominal radical hysterectomy, and it has the advantages of quic k recovery and less complications. |
