Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic value of 99mTcO4 Single-photon emission computed tomography radionuclide salivary gland scintigraphy in the assessment of Sj?gren’s syndrome and compare its results with that of anti-SSA/SSB antibody examination and the joint inspection of the two examinations.Methods:Forty-nine cases of suspected Sj?gren’s syndrome were selected as the research who all underwent salivary gland scintigraphy and anti-SSA/SSB antibody examination in hospital within a week. After salivary gland scintigraphy images acquired, the images were evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively by two experienced nuclear medicine physicians.UR,S/T,Tmin and SR were calculated for quantitative analysis. The diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of theses two examinations and joint inspections were compared. Then drawn ROC curve and evaluate the clinical value of the three examinations in Sj?gren’s syndrome. Results:InResults:In SS group, the UR,S/T and SR of salivary gland were decreased compared with Non-SS group, and the Tmin were higher than that of Non-SS group,in which the UR,S/T and Tmin were compared with normal control(P<0.05),the SR were not different compared with normal control(P>0.05).The diagnostic sensitivity of salivary gland scintigraphy,anti-SSA/SSB antibody examination and joint inspection were respectively100%,80% and 100%(P<0.05),the diagnostic specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value, negative predictive value of salivary gland scintigraphy,anti-SSA/SSB antibody examination and joint inspection were 47.4%,79.6%,75.0%,100%;57.9%,69.4%,80%、64.7% and 26.3%,71.4%,68.2%,100%(P>0.05).The area under the ROC curve(AUC)of salivary gland scintigraphy,anti-SSA/SSB antibody examination and joint inspection were 0.737±0.080(P<0.05),0.689±0.081(P<0.05),0.632±0.086(P>0.05).Conclusion:Salivary gland scintigraphy had higher sensitivity, accuracy and negative predictive value compared with other two ways, which is more effective in the diagnosis of Sj?gren’s syndrome.
