Diagnostic Value Of Double-balloon Endoscopy And MDCT In Small Intestinal Tumors

Object:To compare the diagnostic value of Double-balloon endoscopy(DBE)and multidetector computed tomography(MDCT)for small intestinal tumors.Methods:The clinical data of 88 patients with small intestinal tumor who underwent DBE and MDCT examinations during January 2010 to December 2016 was retrospectively analyzed.The diagnostic value of DBE and MDCT for small intestinal tumor was campared.Results:Pathologically,57 of the 88 small intestinal tumors were malignant and 31 were benign.The positive rate of small intestinal tumors by DBE(92.0%,81/88)was significantly higher than that of MDCT(75.0%,66/88),P<0.01.The positive rate for malignant small intestinal tumors by DBE and MDCT were the same(91.1%),but the rate of hisological qualitation was higher in DBE than that in MDCT(94.1%and76.5%,x2=6.331,P<0.05);The positive rate for benign tumors or the tumors<3cm in diameter by DBE were significantly higher than those by MDCT(96.8%vs48.4%,88.2%vs47.1%,respectively x2=18.235 and x2=13.170,both P<0.01;There was no statistical difference between the positive rate for tumors in different sites by DBE and MDCT;also DBE had a higher positive rate for small intestinal tumor presenting gastrointestinal bleeding(97.2%vs77.8%,x2=6.222,P<0.05).Conclusion:The positive rate of small intestinal tumors and the rate of hisological qualitation by DBE are higher than MDCT,mainly because DBE has higher positive rate for benign tumors and tumors<3 cm in diameter.While for the positive rate of malignant tumors,there is no difference.Anymore,DBE could confirm the histological type of the tumor tissue through the biopsy,while MDCT could show the invasion and metastasis of the tumor outside the small intestinal lumen,provide direction for intubation with DBE.Considering the advantages and disadvantages of DBE and MDCT,to choose a suitable method or combined method can improve the positive rate of small intestinal tumor...
