Objective This article focuses on the prognosis of patients with lupus nephritis at different levels of complement after 4 years to explore the prognosis of complement and lupus nephritis(LN),and provide new evidence for LN disease activity monitoring and prognosisMethods A retrospective analysis and follow-up study of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)who were received treatment at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University in 2014 were carried out.Sixty patients aged 18-60 years with positive urinary protein were screened out and divided into two groups:the Reduced Complement Group and the Normal Complement Group, which are separately recorded the Reduced Complement Group A-2014 and the Normal Complement Group B-2014.Then we followed up this group of the patients until 2017,separately named as the Reduced Complement Group A-2017 and the Normal Complement Group B-2017.And finally continue to track this group of patient by 2018,which were recorded as the Reduced Complement Group A-2018 and the Normal Complement Group B-2018.The Independent sample T test and the card square test were used to analyze:1.Compare the Reduced Complement Group and the Normal Complement Group in each year;2.Compare the Reduced Complement Group in 2014,2017,and 2018;3.Compare the Normal Complement Group in 2014,2017,and 2018..Results 1.?Comparison of the Reduced Complement Group A-2014 and and the Normal Complement Group B-2014:There was a statistically significant difference in complement C3(0.7480.110 vs 1.0100.224 p<0.05)?complement C4(0.1740.057 vs 0.2350.114 p<0.05),and there was no significant difference in age,age of onset, gender.UREA,CRE,ALB and urine protein.?Comparison of the Reduced Complement Group A-2017 and and the Normal Complement Group B-2017:The diference of the complement C3 between two groupswas statistically significant(0.7870.175 vs 0.9890.211 p<0.05),and the difference between the two groups of the complement C4,UREA,CRE,ALB and urine protein had not statistical significance.?Comparison of the Reduced Complement Group A-2018 and the the Normal Complement Group B-2018:Complement C3(0.7560.180 vs 0.9270.233 p<0.05),urine protein(0.8970.573 vs 0.4440.525 p<0.05)was statistically significant;complement C4,UREA,CRE,ALB urine protein were not statistically significant.2.Comparison of follow-up data of each year in the Reduced Complement Group:There was no statistical significance between any two groups.3.Analysis of follow-up data of the Normal Complement Group in each year:?When compared the Normal Complement Group B-2014 and B-2017,only urine protein(0.9260.600 vs 0.3700.376 p<0.05)had a statistical significance, and the remaining indicators were not statistically significant;?Complement C4(0.2350.114 vs 0.1630.599 p<0.05),urine protein(0.9260.600 vs 0.4440.525 p<0.05)betwen the Normal Complement Group B-2014 and B-2018 were statistically significant, and complement C3,UREA,CRE,ALB were not statistically significant,?Every indicator betwen the Normal Complement Group B-2017 and B-2018 was not statistically significant. Conclusion Compared with patients with reduced complement, the urine protein of patients with the normal complement gradually improved with the treatment time, that is,the patients' prognosis of renal function with normal complement is better than that of patients with reduced complement.Complement can be used as an indicator to predict the prognosis of LN,and the renal function in patients with complement reduction has a poorer prognosis.
