The Study Of Ginger And Citri Reticulatae Stomach-warming Ointment Combined With Tropisetron And Dexamethasone To Prevent Chemotherapy Induced Nausea And Vomiting

ObjectiveGinger and Citri Reticulatae Stomach-warming Ointment was used for acupoint application,combined with Tropisetron and Dexamethasone,to explore the clinical efficacy of this drug in preventing Chemotherapy Induced Nausea and Vomiting(CINV),and its impact on the quality of life of patients,providing preliminary clinical observation for the subsequent preparation development.Methods126 patients with gastrointestinal tumors treated with oxaliplatin or irinotecan were divided into the experimental group(65 cases)and the control group(61 cases)by random number table method.The control group received the routine prophylaxis of Tropisetron and Dexamethasone during chemotherapy,and the experimental group was treated with Ginger and Citri Reticulatae Stomach-warming Ointment on the basis of the routine prophylaxis.Nausea and vomiting and related adverse reactions were recorded daily from the first day to the fifth day of chemotherapy,and a scale was filled out on the fifth day of chemotherapy to evaluate the quality of life.ResultsThe overall response rate(ORR)in the delayed phase of the experimental group was higher than that in the control group.It was 100%vs 90.38%(P<0.05)in delayed phase respectively.The incidence of vomiting during delayed phase and the incidence of nausea throughout chemotherapy decreased significantly(P<0.05).The overall quality of life of the patients in the experimental group was significantly improved(P<0.05),mainly reflected in fatigue and gastrointestinal symptoms,like nausea and vomiting,appetite loss,diarrhea,constipation.However,there was no difference in the utilization rate of rescue between the two groups(P>0.05).ConclusionThis study shows that acupoint application of Ginger and Citri Reticulatae Stomach-warming Ointment combined with Tropisetron and Dexamethasone is effective on CINV in delayed phase,and can relieve gastrointestinal symptoms so as to improve the overall quality of life of patients,and will not increase the economic burden,which can be further promoted in clinical research.
