Biomarkers Associated With Recurrent Atrial Fibrillation After Catheter Ablation

Objective: To investigate the relationship between early recurrence of atrial fibrillation(AF)after catheter ablation and markers of inflammation,myocardial fibrosis,oxidative stress and renal metabolism in circulating blood.At the same time,patients with high recurrence of atrial fibrillation can choose the new strategy of one-stop operation for atrial fibrillation.Methods: The study included were 60 patients with atrial fibrillation who underwent circumferential pulmonary vein catheter ablation in Zhejiang Provincial people's Hospital.High sensitivity CRP(Hs-CRP)type brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)homocysteine(HCY)and uric acid(UA)were measured before ablation.The levels of bio-markers in patients with early recurrent AF were compared with those in patients without early recurrent AF.Results: During the follow-up period of three month,AF recurred in 15 of 60 patients.The HCY elevation(18.3±1.7)?mol/L vs(14.8±2.1)?mol/L,Hs-CRP elevation(18.5±4.2)mg /L vs(14.6±3.4)mg /L and BNP elevation(213.2±105.1)pg /mL vs(160.5±80.2)pg/L,all P<0.05.There was no significant difference in UA between the two groups(326.1±63.5)mol/L versus 289±70.6 mol/L,P>0.05).ROC curve analysis of serum HCY level is of certain diagnostic value in the early recurrence of atrial fibrillation after surgery,and the clinical value of one-stop operation for patients with high recurrence rate after ablation and unsuitability for anticoagulant atrial fibrillation is analyzed.Conclusion: Hs-CRP BNP and HCY levels in the blood of patients with atrial fibrillation before catheter ablation may be related to early recurrence after ablation.The diagnostic value of serum HCY level in early recurrence after atrial fibrillation surgery.For patients with high recurrence of atrial fibrillation,one-stop operation is a new strategy.
