The Incidence And Risk Factors Of Small Or Large For Gestational Age In Jining

Objective: We analyzed the incidence of small for gestational age(SGA)and large for gestational age(LGA)of newborns,and investigated the risk factors to provide evidence for prevention of SGA and LGA in Jining of China.Methods: A cross-sectional study was used to select the 17705 subjects,who were pregnant women hospitalized in Affiliated Hospital of Jining Medical University in Jining city of Shandong province from January 2016 to December 2016.We collected and recorded the information related to the pregnancy and birth outcome of the newborns.Patients were divided into small for gestational age group(referred to as SGA group),large for gestational age group(referred to as LGA group)and appropriate for gestational age group(referred to as AGA group).Chi-square test was used to compare the percentage between two groups.Spearman and logistic regression analyzes were carried out to analyze the risk factors of SGA and LGA.Results: The incidence of SGA and LGA newborns was 3.5% and29.5% among the 17705 pregnant women who met our inclusion criteria.HDCP,Preeclampsia,umbilical cord abnormalities,placental abnormalities,amniotic fluid abnormalities,premature delivery,first pregnancy,first childbirth and mother age ?24 years old were positively correlated with SGA;gestational diabetes,low T4 and anemia werenegatively correlated with SGA.HDCP,preeclampsia,umbilical cord abnormalities,placental abnormalities,amniotic fluid abnormalities,premature delivery,and first childbirth are independent risk factors for SGA.GDM,pregestational DM,HDCP,PCOS,obesity,hypothyroidism,low T4,anemia and ? 35 years old were positively correlated with LGA(P < 0.05);preeclampsia,PROM,Umbilical cord abnormalities,placental abnormalities,amniotic fluid abnormalities,premature delivery,first pregnancy,first childbirth,mother age ? 24 years old were negatively correlated with LGA(P < 0.05).GDM,diabetes with pregnancy,PCOS,obesity,anemia and mother age ? 35 years old are independent risk factors for LGA.Conclusion: The incidence of SGA in Jining was 3.5%,and the incidence of LGA was 29.5%.HDCP,preeclampsia,umbilical cord abnormalities,placental abnormalities,amniotic fluid abnormalities,preterm birth,and first childbirth are independent risk factors of SGA.GDM,diabetes with pregnancy,PCOS,obesity,anemia,and maternal age? 35 years are independent risk factors of LGA.
