| Background and Objective: Many studies have shown that the PLA2R1 gene single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)may be associated with the risk of primary membranous nephropathy,but the conclusion is controversial.In several frequently studied PLA2R1 gene polymorphisms,rs3828323 and rs35771982 have attracted widespread attention.Therefore,we conducted a meta-analysis to determine the potential association between the PLA2R1 rs3828323 and rs35771982 polymorphisms and the risk of idiopathic membranous nephropathy(IMN)for the first time.Methods: We searched Pubmed,Embase,CNKI,China Biomedical Database,Wanfang Database,from the establishment of the database to January 2019,obtained the case-control studies on the association between PLA2R1 gene and IMN.Data extraction and quality evaluation of the included literature were performed independently by two reviewers(Yuan LV and Huihui ZHANG),and meta-analysis was performed using Stata15.1 and Revman5.3 software.Results: Eight studies were included in the present meta-analysis,which involved 1799 cases and 2402 controls.Odds ratio(ORs)and 95% confidence interval(95% CI)used to estimate the strength of the association.The PLA2R1 gene rs3828323 polymorphism was found to be significantly associated with the risk of IMN in all models(CT+TT versus CC: OR = 0.67,95% CI: 0.56–0.81;TT versus CT+CC: OR = 0.58,95% CI: 0.40–0.85;CT versus CC: OR = 0.71,95% CI: 0.58–0.86;TT versus CC: OR = 0.52,95% CI: 0.35–0.77;T versus C: OR = 0.70,95% CI: 0.60–0.82).No significant relationship was found between PLA2R1 gene rs35771982 polymorphism and p MN risk(CG+CC versus GG: OR = 0.86,95% CI: 0.42–1.75;CC versus CG+GG: OR = 0.83,95% CI: 0.31–2.25;CG versus GG: OR = 0.68,95% CI: 0.41–1.09;CC versus GG: OR = 0.78,95% CI: 0.20–3.00;C versus G: OR = 0.93, 95% CI: 0.43–1.99).Conclusions: PLA2R1 gene rs3828323 polymorphism is correlated with IMN risk,while PLA2R1 gene rs35771982 polymorphism is not associated with IMN risk. |
