| Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with Yangjing Daotan Decoction and letrozole in the treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS)caused by kidney deficiency and phlegm dampness,and to explore its possible mechanism of action,so as to provide a scientific theoretical basis for the treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome-induced infertility by combination of acupuncture and medicine.Methods: In this study,60 patients with infertility caused by kidney deficiency and phlegm dampness polycystic ovary syndrome were randomly divided into two groups,30 in each group.Acupuncture and moxibustion combined with Yangjing Daotan Decoction and letrozole were given in the acupuncture and medicine group,while Yangjing Daotan Decoction combined with letrozole was given in the medicine group for three menstrual cycles.The TCM symptom score,basal body temperature(BBT),cycle ovulation rate,pregnancy rate,follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH),luteinizing hormone/follicle stimulating hormone(LH/FSH),estradiol(E2),testosterone(T),body weight index were observed before and after treatment.Change of Body Mass Index(BMI)Index Result:1.Total curative effect: The total effective rate of the acupuncture and medication group was 83.33%,and that of the medication group was 56.67%.There was a significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.05).The total curative effect of the acupuncture and medication group was better than that of the medication group.2.Therapeutic effect of TCM symptoms: After treatment,the total effective rates of TCM symptoms in the acupuncture group and the drug group were 86.67% and60.00%,respectively.There was a significant difference between the two groups(P <0.05).The curative effect of TCM symptoms in the acupuncture group was better than that in the drug group.After treatment,the scores of TCM symptoms in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P < 0.01),and there wasa significant difference between the two groups.However,there was no significant difference between the scores of TCM symptoms in the acupuncture and medicine group after treatment(P > 0.05).3.Basic body temperature: Biphasic cycle rate of BBT in acupuncture group(77.11%)and drug group(61.62%).There was a significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.05).4.Cyclic ovulation rate and pregnancy rate: Cyclic ovulation rate of acupuncture group(77.11%)and drug group(61.62%)were significantly different(P < 0.05).The pregnancy rate of the acupuncture group(33.33%)was slightly higher than that of the drug group(26.67%).There was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).5.BMI: Compared with before treatment,the two groups have a certain effect on improving BMI,the difference is very significant(P < 0.01);after treatment,the effect of acupuncture and medicine group in reducing BMI is better than that of drug group(P < 0.05).6.Changes of serum sex hormones: After treatment,serum LH and LH/FSH in both groups decreased significantly compared with before treatment.There was a significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.01),and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.05).The effect of acupuncture and medicine group on the regulation of LH and LH/FSH was better than that of drug group.There was no significant difference in serum FSH between the two groups before and after treatment(P > 0.05).After treatment,the serum T value of the two groups decreased significantly compared with that before treatment,and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.01),but there was no significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P > 0.05).After treatment,the serum E2 level in both groups was higher than that before treatment(P < 0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).Conclusion: Acupuncture and moxibustion combined with Yangjing Daotan Decoction and letrozole in the treatment of infertility caused by polycystic ovarysyndrome with kidney deficiency and phlegm dampness can improve the overall curative effect,improve the symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine,regulate the levels of sex hormones(LH,LH/FSH,T,E2),and effectively reduce body mass index,regulate basic body temperature,increase cycle ovulation rate,thus conducive to improving pregnancy rate,and without adverse reactions.It has certain curative effect to improve PCOS infertility of kidney deficiency and phlegm dampness type.Acupuncture and moxibustion combined with Yangjing Daotan Decoction and letrozole is a safe and effective treatment for infertility caused by polycystic ovary syndrome with kidney deficiency and phlegm dampness. |
