ObjectiveAs a common orthopedic disease, the quality of life in patients with OVCF cannot be ignored. This study used the EQ-5D Health Scale to assess the quality of life of OVCF patients, and based on the measurement results into a health utility value through the utility point system to find out the factors affecting the quality of life in OVCF patients. This study was to evaluate the prognosis status and efficacy of OVCF patients more objectively.MethodsFrom January 2017 to December 2017,175 patients(34 male and 141 female)were diagnosed as "osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures" by our research group. The patients were subjected to the EQ-5D Health Scale and ODI score, and were used to calculate the EQ-5D utility value for statistical analysis to identify relevant factors affecting quality of life. The data were analyzed by SPSS21.0 statistical software. The measurement data were expressed by(x±s).The t-test was used for comparison between independent groups. The correlation analysis between the two variables was performed by Spearman rank correlation analysis. The influencing factors were analyzed by multiple linear regression analysis. The difference was statistically significant at the test level P<0.05.Resu tAmong the 175 patients in the questionnaire,34 cases(19.4%)were male, the mean EQ-5D utility value was 0.653±0.108;141 cases(80.6%)was female, with mean EQ-5D utility value of 0.619±0.129:There was no significant difference in EQ-5D levels between different sexes(P>0.05).The mean age of the patients was 68.01±6.44 years old,and the age and the EQ-5D utility value were statistically significant(R=-0.184,P=0.015).130 cases(74.3%)were single-level fracture.and mean EQ-5D utility value was 0.620 ± 0.124;45 cases(25.7%)were multi-level bone segment, and mean EQ-5D utility value was 0.641 ± 0.131,there was no significant difference in EQ-5D levels between them(P>0.05).143 cases(81.7%)underwent surgical treatment, with an average EQ,5D utility value of 0.704 ± 0.122;32 cases(18.3%)underwent conservative treatment with an average EQ-5D utility value of 0.608±0.120,there was significant difference between the treatment and EQ-5D utility value(P<0.05).90 cases(51.4%)received anti-osteoporosis treatment, and the mean EQ-5D utility value was 0.671 ±0.110;85 cases(48.6%)did not receive anti-osteoporosis treatment, and the mean EQ-5D utility value was 0.577±0.123.There was significant difference between the anti-osteoporosis treatment and EQ-5D utility value(P<0.05).139 cases(79.4%)had a history of fracture, the mean EQ-5D utility value was 0.578±0.147;36 cases(20.6%)had no fracture history, and the mean EQ-5D utility value was 0.637±0.117,which was statistically significant(P=0.011).Multiple linear regression analysis of factors affecting OVCF patients quality of life were treatment(P=0.024),anti-osteoporosis treatment(P<0.001),and fracture history(P<0.001).ConclusionOVCF patients clearly showed a reduction in quality of life in several dimensions of the EQ-5D Health Scale.Treatment,anti-osteoporosis treatment, and previous fracture history are factors that influence the quality of life of patients. The anti-osteoporosis treatment can improve the quality of life of OVCF patients.Surgical treatment can significantly improve the quality of life of patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures.
