Objective:Systematically to evaluate the relationship between circulating trimethylami ne oxide(TMAO)levels and prognosis in patients with coronary heart disease. Methods:By searching English databases such as PubMed,web of science, and Chinese databases such as China Knowledge Network and Wanfang,we collected prospective cohort studies on circulating TMAO levels and prognosis of patients with coronary heart disease. We set the search time range from database construction time to 2019.February 30 th.For the retrieved literature, the literature was selected according to the set inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the literature related data were extracted, and the Meta evaluation was performed using RevMan5.3 software. Results:A total of 5 articles were included,4 were single-center studies, and 1 was a2-center study. The meta-analysis results showed that there was no statistically significant assessment of the risk of MACE in blood TMAO levels when the follow-up time was less than 1 year [HR = 3.25,95% CI: 0.97-10.91,P = 0.06].When the follow-up time was greater than or equal to 1 year, the risk of MACE in the coronary heart disease group with high blood TMAO level was 40% higher than that of the low TMAO level. The results were statistically significant [HR = 1.40,95% CI:1.08-1.81,P = 0.01].The all-cause mortality rate of the TMAO coronary heart disease group with a higher level of blood TMAO was 70% higher than that of the low TMAO level.[HR = 1.70,95% CI: 1.20-2.42,P = 0.003].Conclusion:This meta-analysis showed that:(1)When the follow-up time was less than 1year,the predictive value of circulating TMAO level for major cardiac adverse events in patients with coronary heart disease was not statistically significant;(2)when the follow-up time was greater than or equal to 1 year, the circulating TMAO level was Major cardiac adverse events in patients with coronary heart disease have predictive value, but more studies are needed to confirm the credibility of this conclusion;(3)circulating TMAO levels have predictive value for long-term all-cause mortality in patients with coronary heart disease.
