Objective: To observe the effects of acupotomy and acupuncture on posterior circulation ischemic vertigo. To explore the therapeutic effect of acupotomy on posterior circulation ischemic vertigo for clinical provide a simple, safe and reliable treatment for sure. Methods: The 60 patients with after posterior circulation ischemic vertigo patient were divided into treatment group(acupotomy group)and control group(acupuncture group)in 30 cases, according to the simple and randomized method. After two groups received basic drug therapy, the selected patients stopped other Chinese and western medicines that affected cerebral vasomotor function for more than 48 hours. The treatment group was given as below: first in the patient’s napex,10 treatment points were treated symmetrically with 2.5 mm-3 mm next to the C2-6 spinous process;second the average score was divided into 3 equal parts between the mid-neck and the posterior neck of the occipital bone, and 5 treatment points were selected on both sides. The control group was given acupuncture treatment of scalp and body, before treatment,on day 1 after treatment, after 2 courses of treatment, and 1 month after treatment perform EEV score,DRAS score and TCD detection. In the course of treatment after posterior circulation ischemic vertigo comprehensive evaluation.Result:1)After the first day of treatment, acupotomy treatment was significantly better than acupuncture in improving vertigo symptoms and increasing blood flow velocity.Statistically,P<0.01,statistically significant between the two groups, indicating acupotomy treatment has a very significant immediate effect in the improvement of posterior circulation ischemic vertigo and in increasing blood flow velocity.2)After 2 courses of treatment, both groups can effectively reduce EEV score and DARS score, and improve TCD examination results.between the two groups P<0.05,in both groups P<0.05,indicating acupotomy and acupuncture treatment can effectively improve the patient’s vertigo symptom, improve blood flow, and acupotomy treatment is better than acupuncture treatment.3)After 2courses treatment and 1 month after treatment make EEV scores,DARS scores and TCD examination were analyzed, there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Indicating that the long-term effect of posterior circulation ischemic vertigo after acupotomy treatment is stable,no repeat.4)The overall efficiency of the two groups was compared: the treatment group total effective rate was 93.33%,recovery rate is 20%;the control group total effective rate was 86.67%,recovery rate is 10%.By rank sum test,Z =2.055,P = 0.040<0.01.Indicating that the significant difference between the two groups was statistically significant, the treatment group was significantly better than the control group.Conclusion:1.Acupotomy treatment has a very significant immediate effect on improving the symptoms of posterior ischemic vertigo symptoms and increasing blood flow velocity.2.Acupotomy and acupuncture treatment can improve the patient’s vertigo symptoms and improve blood flow rate;and acupotomy treatment is significantly better than acupuncture treatment.
