[Objective] To compare the clinical efficacy of platelet-rich plasma(PRP)and traditional drug injection in the treatment of early knee osteoarthritis.[Methods] A total of 120 qualified patients with early knee osteoarthritis of Shenzhen Second People's Hospital from July 2017 to April 2018 were included in this study.Patients were randomly divided into two groups.60 patients who received PRP intra-articular injection were divided into group PRP.60 patients who received traditional drugs intra-articular injection were divided into group HA.Basic preoperative data of the two groups of patients were collected.Including age, gender,Body Mass Index(BMI),classification of knee osteoarthritis(kellgren-lawrence,K-L),treatment with other drugs before treatment, and the Western Ontario and Mc Master Universities theses Index before treatment,(WOMAC),Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)and other data were statistically analyzed. All patients were followed up after completing all drug therapy injections to obtain WOMAC scores and VAS scores at the 1st,3rd,6th and 12 th months after treatment. All data were analyzed using statistical software and clinical efficacy was evaluated objectively.[Results] During the follow-up,2 patients in the PRP group and 4 patients in the traditional medicine group failed to complete the follow-up data records due to non-compliance,and all the other enrolled patients received follow-up data through re-visit,telephoneand other channels, with a follow-up time of 12.0-20.0 months(mean follow-up time of 16.4 months). The incidence of adverse reactions was 17/174 in the PRP group, and 15/280 in the traditional drug treatment group. There was no statistically significant difference in the number and duration of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).The total effective rate of PRP group was significantly higher than that of the traditional drug group, and the difference was statistically significant(X2=15.467,P=0.001).In the first and third months after treatment,WOMAC and VAS scores in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment. However, there was no significant difference in scores between the two groups(P=0.938,P=0.874).However,at the 6th and 12 th months after treatment,WOMAC score and VAS score were compared between the two groups, and the knee joint score of PRP group was better than that of the traditional medicine group, with statistically significant differences(P=0.000,P=0.000).[Conclusion] Intraarticular injection of PRP is satisfactory for the treatment of early knee osteoarthritis.PRP can maintain good long-term treatment effect, slow down the progress of knee osteoarthritis, increase the service life of knee joint, reduce the rate of surgical treatment of knee osteoarthritis, and improve the long-term quality of life of patients after treatment. It can be considered that PRP is a very good and effective method for the treatment of early knee osteoarthritis.
