Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of dl-3-n-butylphthalide in traumatic brain injury(TBI)patients. Methods A randomized,double-blind,prospective design was performed.Recruited 113 patients with TBI who received treatment in Department of Neurosurgery of PLA 98 th Hospital of Anhui Medical University from December 2016 to September 2017 and met inclusion and exclusion criteria. There were 57 patients in dl-3-n-butylphthalide group(test group)and 56 patients in ganglioside group(control group). The test group was given butylphthalide treatment, and the control group was given ganglioside treatment. The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)scores which conducted in the time of before and after 15 d? 45 d? 90 d?180 d treatment were used to assess the degree of neurological deficit;the Barthel index which conducted in 45 d,90 d,180 d after treatment were used to assess the ability of daily living;in 180 days after treatment, the Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)was used to assess the patient's anxiety and Glasgow Outcome Scale(GOS)for prognosis. Results The NIHSS scores at the 15 d? 45 d?90 d?180 d and the Barthel index at the 45 d?90 d?180 d were statistically significant(P<0.05);At 180 d after treatment. The rate of no anxiety(HAMA < 7 points)are statistically significant(P<0.05).there was no significant difference in the rate of favorable prognosis(GOS ? 4 points)in two groups(P>0.05).The rate of adverse events was extremely low in two groups, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Dl-3-n-Butylphthalide is effective and safe for TBI patients and can improve TBI patients' neurological deficit and daily living quality.
