Objective: Diabetes is a kind of disease which needs life-long medical treatments.Mostly, the development of type 2 diabetes(T2DM)had close relationship with patients' life-style.The researches showed that the incidence of ED(eating disorder)in T2 DM was more than 2 times of that in non-T2 DM.Among the EDs,the most common one was BED(binge eating disorder)in T2 DM.Some researches revealed that T2 DM accompanied BED in foreign counties with great diversity in incidence. What's more, the mechanism of this phenomenon was mainly discussed from mental condition or psychology, which lacked the clinical evidence. Our research aimed at investigating the incidence of BED and its effects on the glucose control in T2 DM patients. Methods: 234 patients with T2 DM recruiting into Endocrinae Department of LU'AN Second People's Hospital during Jan 2018-June 2018 were analyzed. We excluded pregnant women,baby-feeding women and the objects with the diseases which could affect food-intake.Among the 234 T2 DM patients, there were 126 men and 108 women, aged from 16-83 years old with the average age(57.53±12.03).Investigation questionnaire was conducted based on BED criteria in DSM—V newly published in2013.According to the results of questionnaire, patients were divided into two groups,BED(binge eating disorder)group and NBED(non-binge eating disorder)group.Education background,Gender, age, disease history,BMI,Hb A1 c,FPG,C-P,TC,TG,HDL-C,LDL-C,5 chronic diseases(neuropathy, peripheral vascular lesions, diabetes nephropathy, retinal lesions, diabetes foot)and 2 complications(coronary heart disease, cerebral infarction)were carefully analyzed. Results: The incidence of BED among T2 DM was 8.97%,gender counted in the incidence of BED and women were more vulnerable to BED(P<0.05).The BED group had higher level of Hb A1 c,BMI,FPG and age, while there was no statistical difference in the level of C-P,TC,TG,HDL-C,LDL-C(P>0.05).And among males,BMI in BED group was higher than that in NBED group(P<0.05),while there was no statistical difference among females. There was no evident correlation between 5 chronic diseases(neuropathy, peripheral vascular lesions, diabetes nephropathy, retinal lesions, diabetes foot),2 complications(coronary heart disease, cerebral infarction)and BED.Conclusion: Women in T2 DM are more vulnerable to BED and the ones with higher BMI had more possibility of BED along with especially among males. The ones in T2 DM with BED have worse glucose-control performance. In clinical work, more attention should be paid to the women and the men with higher BMI.
