Objective: The repairment of maxillary defect is a common problem in the department of oral prosthodontics.In this article,a variety of digital techniques were used to observe the therapeutic effect of the prosthesis in patients with maxillary defect.Methods: 5 patients with maxillary bone defect(4 patients with simple Brown II maxillary defect and a patient with Brown II maxillary defect combined with mandibular defect)were collected from September 2016 to April 2019 in the Department of Repair,Affiliated Stomatology Hospital of Nanchang University.Digital data of soft and hard tissues in the mouth were obtained by 3-shape optical scanning system.A three-dimensional digital model was produced by Digistell,a French De-Neighbor CAD/CAM software.Pure titanium brackets were precisely designed and rapidly cut into titanium blocks on the digital model.The final impression in the defect cavity was obtained by using the pure titanium stent and silicon rubber;T-ScanIII occlusal analysis system was applied to assist the coordination.Subjective evaluation of patients and Watian drinking water test were used to evaluate the effect of oral function reconstruction.The stability of the prosthesis,the food accumulation in the defect cavity,the degree of pure titanium stents and clamps,the soft and hard tissues of the surgical site were checked regularly.The prosthesis could be modified or replaced if necessary.Results: The application of digital technology in treating patients with Brown II maxillary bone defect improved the comfort level of patients,shortened the treatment cycle,restored good occlusal relationship and mastication efficiency.In the subjective evaluation of 5 patients with prosthetic prostheses,4 cases were excellent and 1 case was poor;2 cases improved from grade III to grade I,2 cases from grade IV to grade II,and 1 case from grade V to grade IV in the Watian drinking water experiment before and after treatment.CONCLUSION:The application of digital technology in the prosthetic repair of Brown II maxillary defect can simplify the treatment process,shorten the period,restore the function of prosthetic repair and improve the physiological and mental health of patients.It is an economical,effective,convenient and feasible repair method.However,it is still necessary to constantly absorb and use new technologies in computer,engineering manufacturing and tissue engineering to meet the patients’ expectations of defect repair,so as to provide better repair treatment for such patients. |
