ObjectiveNon-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) is considered to be the most common disease of all liver disorders, and regarded as liver manifestation of metabolic syndrome(MS).It is often accompanyed with obesity, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia, hypertension. And these patients have a high risk of cardiovascular disease(CVD).Colorectal polyps is one of the most common digestive system diseases and seems to have close correlation with colorectal cancer. Many studies strongly support the idea that there is some association between NAFLD and colorectal polyps. This study is based on a retrospective observation of the clinical features of these two diseases, which aims to explore and analyze the association between them, hopes to provide a reference for related fields.MethodsIn this study, patients who met the criteria were sorted. And we consulted and analyzed the clinical datas of them.First, they were divided into NAFLD group and no-NAFLD group.Compared and analyzed the age, sex,BMI,blood fat, blood pressure, blood glucose and the morbidity of colorectal polyps respectively.Next, they were divided into colorectal polyp group and no-colorectal polyp group, and for the colorectal polyp group,we divided them into adenomatous polyp subgroup and non-adenomatous polyp subgroup, left colon subgroup, right colon subgroup and total colon subgroup.Compared and analyzed the age, sex,BMI,blood fat, blood pressure, blood glucose and the morbidity of NAFLD respectively. Finally,we can draw a conclusion of the association and what is the association between the two diseases.Results1.The NAFLD patients mostly were males, the difference between two groups had statistical significance(X~2=5.536,P=0.019).2.In NAFLD group, the mean age of the patients was 52.3±12.35,which was higher than that of the control group 45.97±15.61,the difference was statistically significant(t=-3.107,P=0.002).3.The BMI of NAFLD group are higher, the difference was statistically significant(P=0.000).4.The morbidity of diabetes mellitus(DM) is higher in NAFLD group,X~2=30.573,the difference showed significant(P=0.000).5.The patients with hyperlipidemia(HLP)were far more common in NAFLD group,X~2=53.931,the difference statistically significant(P=0.000).6.The morbidity of colorectal polyps is higher than that in the control group,X~2=5.966,there was a significant deviation(P=0.015).7.The mean age of the patients was 55.59±12.041 in colorectal poly group, which was higher than that of control group43.19±13.904,the difference between two groups had statistical significance(t=-6.575,P=0.000).8.The BMI of the paitents are higher than that of the control group, the difference showed significant(P=0.033).9.The morbidity of diabetes mellitus(DM) is higher than that in the non-colorectal poly group,X~2=9.692,there was a significant deviation(P=0.002).10.The patients with hyperlipidemia(HLP) were far more common in the colorectal poly group,X~2=4.748,the difference was statistically significant(P=0.029).11.In adenomatous polyp subgroup and non-adenomatous polyp subgroup, left colon subgroup, right colon subgroup and total colon subgroup, there was no statistical significance in the morbidity of NAFLD.Conclusions(1)There is a correlation between NAFLD and colorectal polys,so colonoscopy should be recommended for patients who are diagnosed with NAFLD.(2)Elderly,male,obese people are more likely to get NAFLD and colorectal polys, especially adenomatous polyps,so we strongly recommended the liver ultrasound and colorectal colonoscopy should be taken as routine physical screening programs in these high risk groups.(3)Hyperlipidemia and diabetes mellitus are high risks of NAFLD and colorectal polys, these indicators should be well controlled in people who are at high risk.(4)NAFLD is associated with colorectal polys,no matter where it grows and what pathological type it is.
