Objective To determine whether the display screens of smart phones and laptops can emit blue light with a wavelength of 400-460 nm,and to compare the intensity of blue light in different brightness of the display screens.To observe the effect of blue light irradiation on the proliferation of skin fibroblasts.To study the protective effect of lutein on skin fibroblast injury induced by blue light and its mechanism.Method A spectroscopic radiance meter was used to detect blue light with a wavelength of 400-460 nm generated by the display screens of smartphones and laptops;CCK-8 kit was used to detect the effect of blue light irradiation on the proliferation activity of skin fibroblasts;To observe the effect of different concentration of lutein solution on the proliferation of fibroblasts,and to screen out the safe concentration range of lutein;To detect the effect of lutein solution at different concentrations on the proliferation of fibroblasts irradiated by blue light;Detection of ROS production in fibroblasts irradiated by lutein under blue light by reactive oxygen species assay kit;The effect of lutein on the senescence of fibroblasts after blue light irradiation was detected by cell senescence beta-galactosidase staining kit.Result The display screens of the five electronic products can emit 400-460 nm blue light;The brightness of the product screen increases,and the intensity of blue light irradiance increases(P < 0.05);Blue light irradiation has an inhibitory effect on the proliferation activity of fibroblasts(P < 0.05);Within a certain time range,the blue light exposure time increased,and the proliferation activity of fibroblasts showed a decreasing trend;3.13-12.5 ug/ml lutein solution could promote the proliferation of fibroblasts,and 50-100 ug/ml lutein solution could reduce the proliferation of fibroblasts(P < 0.05);Lutein solution of 25 ug/ml had no significant effect on the proliferation of fibroblasts(P > 0.05);Lutein solution can reduce the inhibition of blue light irradiation on fibroblast proliferation(P<0.05);Blue light irradiation can increase ROS level in fibroblasts,and lutein solution of 5 ug/ml can decrease ROS level in fibroblasts induced by blue light irradiation;Blue light irradiation can promote the aging of skin fibroblasts,and lutein solution of 5 ug/ml has a certain protective effect on the aging of skin fibroblasts induced by blue light irradiation.Conclusion Smart phones and laptop display screens can emit 400-460 nm blue light.Blue light can inhibit the proliferation of fibroblasts,increase ROS level in skin fibroblasts and promote the aging of fibroblasts.Lutein solution can protect skin fibroblasts from blue light and reduce the inhibitory effect of blue light on skin fibroblasts.The mechanism may be related to reducing the ROS level of fibroblasts induced by blue light and delaying the senescence of fibroblasts.
