The Research On The Cases Of Professor Wang Xu Treating Metabolic Syndrome Based On Data Mining

Objective:This research is based on Professor Wang Xu's clinical cases of metabolic syndrome and by applying method of data mining to summarize and conclude professor Wang's methodology of syndrome differentiation as well as principles in using herbal medicinal.This research has comprehensively concluded,organized and refined the professor's scholar thoughts,principles of syndrome differentiations,principles of treatment and experience on effective herbal medicinal usage.Methods:This research has collected relevant information about Professor Wang's clinical cases of metabolic syndrome dated from April,2018 to January,2019.An excel data base has been established by using data that being preliminarily proceeded in accordance with straight inclusion criteria.SPSS modeler 25.0 has been used to carry out frequency analysis over gender,age,complications,main symptoms,tongue manifestation,pulse,and medicine and herbs nature.Method of cluster analysis applied to tongue manifestation and frequency of herbal medicinal that is greater than 10 in order to conclude clinical experiences of professor Wang in treating metabolic syndrome.Result:the following findings are obtained by using data mining:among 62 cases of metabolic syndrome,the total number of consultation is 138,in which 34 cases are male(54.8%),28 cases are female(45.2%),the youngest is 18,the oldest is 74.Age distribution of patients ranged from 41-60.There were 3 cases(4.8%)with normal BMI index(BMI<18.5),10 cases(16.1%)with overweight(24<BMI<28),49 cases(79.0%)with obesity(BMI<28),and the WC distribution ranged from 91 to 105cm.The highest rate of complications among all is diabetes,which has a number of 53 cases(85.5%).Clinical symptoms that exceed the frequency of 50 are listed as follow:Obesity,118 times(85.5%);Dry mouth,87 times(63.0%);Fatigue,62 times(44.9%);Excessive water consumption,58 times(42.0%);Oppression in the chest,52 times(37.7%).For tongue manifestation that exceeds 10%are listed as below:Red tongue,74 times(53.6%);Pale red tongue,34 times(24.6%);Tongue with teeth marks,18 times(13%).For tongue for that exceeds 10%are listed as below:Thin white fur,49 times(35.5%);Thin fur,28 times(20.3%);Pulse condition that exceeds 10%are listed as follow:Fine pulse,21 times(15.2%);String-like pulse,19 times(13.7%);Fine and String-like pulse,17 times(12.3%);Sunken Fine pulse,15 times(10.9%);Sunken pulse,15 times(10.9%);There are 57 kind of herbs used in this research that has a frequency exceed 10%.For herbs that have a frequency exceed 50%are listed as below:Digupi,97 times(70.3%);Guijianyu,94 times(68.1%);Fuling,70 times(50.7%);Gouqizi,58 times(42.0%);Taizishen,56 times(40.6%);Zelan,55 times(39.9%);Huanlian,50 times(36.2%);Banxia,50 times(36.2%);There are all together 15 types of herbs that involved in the research,mainly heat-clearing medicinal,blood-activating and stasis-resolving medicinal,tonifying and replenishing medicinal,dampness-draining medicinal,heat-clearing medicinal has the majority among all.Conclusion:The study has shown that metabolic syndrome mainly be found in middle-aged patients,usually with diabetes.Syndrome differentiation and corresponding treatment of the professor Wang mainly focus on spleen and kidney,phlegm-blood stasis and heat,hence establishes" Removing heat to promote salivation,resolving phlegm and dispelling blood stasis,tonifying qi and yin" as the principle for treatment.
