[Objective]To explore the effect of Yalom's interpersonal dynamics group model on anxiety, depression, quality of life and coping styles in oral cancer patients, and evaluate the effective of the intervention, providing theoretical basis for Yalom's interpersonal dynamics group model in the clinical application and promotion.[Methods]A total of 60 patients, first diagnosed with oral cancer(including tongue cancer, carcinoma of the buccal mucosa, carcinoma of the palate, carcinoma of mouth floor and gingival cancer)in oral and maxillofacial surgery of Nanjing Stomatological Hospital,Medical School of Nanjing University from March to August 2018 were included and randomly divided into two groups(30 cases in each group)in accordance with the random numeral table method. In the control group, patients were only received the conventional psychological nursing while in the experimental group, patients were additionally given the Yalom's interpersonal dynamics group model intervention. The level of anxiety and depression and quality of life of patients in both groups were evaluated by Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)and University of Washington Quality of Life(UW-QOLv4)questionnaire before the intervention, two weeks after the operation, three months and six months after the operation, respectively. The coping styles of patients in both groups were evaluated by Trait Coping Style Questionnaire(TCSQ)before the intervention, three months and six months after the operation, respectively. The differences of baseline data between the two groups was analyzed by chi-square;comparison in SAS,SDS,UW-QOLv4 and TCSQ before and after intervention between the two groups was made by independent sample t test;paired sample t test was used to compare differences in SAS,SDS,UW-QOLv4 and TCSQ before and after intervention of each group. All the analysis was done with SPSS 21.0 software and P<0.05 was considered statistical differences.[Results]1.A total of 55 cases of oral cancer parents were involved in this study, including 28 cases in control group and 27 cases in experimental group. In terms of age, gender, disease types and stages, level of education, marital status, working conditions and payment types data, there was no statistical difference between the two groups(P>0.05).2.Before the intervention, the scores of SAS,SDS,UW-QOLv4,PC and NC were 60.46±3.13,58.93±3.20,1022.68±66.53,29.54±3.85 and 36.79±3.95 in control group, respectively, while in experimental group, the scores of SAS,SDS,UW-QOLv4,PC and NC were 61.19±3.09,57.93±2.25,1019.63±57.19,29.22±4.15 and 36.85±4.92,respectively,there was no significant difference between the two groups(t=-0.859,1.340,0.182,0.290 and-0.055,respectively,P>0.05).3.After the intervention, the scores of SAS,SDS,UW-QOLv4,PC and NC of the two groups were compared, and the differences between the groups were all statistically significant(P<0.05),except the UW-QOLv4 scores two weeks after the operation(t=-1.882 and P=0.065).4.Before and after the intervention, compared the former SAS,SDS,UW-QOLv4 with the later ones in control group, the differences were all statistically significant(P<0.05),except the comparison between before the intervention and two weeks after the operation in SAS(t=1.256,P=0.220)and SDS(t=-0.563,P=0.578).There were no significant difference in PC and NC(P>0.05),except the comparison between before the intervention and six months after the operation(PC:t=-2.778,P=0.010;NC:t=2.811,P=0.009).5.Before and after the intervention, compared the former SAS,SDS,UW-QOLv4,PC and NC with the later ones in experimental group, the differences were all statistically significant(P<0.05).[Conclusions]1.Yalom's interpersonal dynamics group model can effectively relieve the anxiety and depression in oral cancer patients.2.Yalom's interpersonal dynamics group model can efficiently improve the quality of life in patients with oral cancer.3.Yalom's interpersonal dynamics group model can increase positive coping scores and reduce negative coping scores, effectively improve the trait coping style in oral cancer patients.
