Clinical Research On Correcting Abnormal Cervical Curvature By Qigong Exercise Therapy

ObjectiveExplore the efficacy of qigong exercises for the treatment of abnormalcervical curve and explore whether it is more effective to exercise properly for longer periods of time.MethodsSelect March 2017 to November 2017 in our hospital orthopedic clinic,diagnosis of cervical spondylosis,Sixty patients with abnormal cervical curve were found by measuring the lateral radiographs of cervical DR.Randomly divided into observation group and control group of 30 cases.Two groups of patients were treated with cervical traction and neck with infrared treatment(3 times per week for 20 minutes each for 4 weeks)for the basic treatment.At the same time we guide the observation group for cervical qigong exercises(Exercise 4 times/day,15 times/group,a total of 12 weeks).Before treatment,after 4 weeks and 12 weeks of treatment,cervical sagittal alignment measurement(C2-C7 vertebrae posterior angle),cervical pain VAS and neck dysfunction index(NDI)were recorded.Cervical sagittal alignment measurement,VAS score and NDI index were compared between the two groups at each time point of follow-up.The two groups of patients were compared with their clinical indexes before treatment.OutcomesBefore treatment,after 4 weeks and 12 weeks of treatment,the measurements of cervical curvature of the observation group were(-0.33±2.58)°,(7.80±2.54)°,(15.87±3.47)°respectively.The cervical curvature measured in the control group at the same time period were(-1.03 ± 2.62)°,(5.07± 3.46)°,(3.50 ± 3.31)°,respectively.There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment.In the observation group before treatment,after 4 weeks of treatment and after 12 weeks of treatment,the mean value of the measured value of the cervical curvature gradually increased,and the difference was statistically significant(F=237.706,P<0.05).The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05)after treatment for 4 weeks and 12 weeks,and the improvement of cervical curvature in treatment group was more significant.Before treatment,4 weeks and 12 weeks after treatment,the VAS scores of neck pain in the observation group were(6.15±1.02)points,(3.02 ±0.66)points and(1.75 ± 0.78)points respectively,and those in the control group the scores were(6.21±1.04)points,(3.29±0.77)points and(4.06±0.90)points respectively.There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment.In the observation group,the average value of VAS scores gradually increased before treatment,4 weeks after treatment,and 12 weeks after treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(F=221.429,p<0.05).There was no significant difference in VAS score between the two groups for 4 weeks(P>0.05).However,after 12 weeks of treatment,the VAS score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group.(P<0.05).Before treatment and after 4 weeks and 12 weeks of treatment,NDI of the observation group were(30.93±6.25)points(16.07±5.11)points and(7.97± 3.13)points respectively.The NDI of the control group were(28.20 ±5.35)points,(21.53±4.90)points and(21.27±4.15)points respectively.There was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment.In the observation group,the mean value of NDI scores decreased gradually before treatment,after treatment 4 and after treatment for 12 weeks.The comparison was statistically significant(F=162.780,p<0.05).The difference between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05)after treatment for 4 weeks and 12 weeks,and the improvement of NDI in treatment group was more significant.Conclusion1 With cervical spine qigong exercise to improve cervical curvature abnormalities than the only use of cervical traction,the curative effect is obvious.At the same time it is more effective to improvethe neck pain and the neck dysfunction of cervical spondylosis patients2 By adhering to qigong exercises,we can further improve cervical curvature abnormalities and further improve neck pain and cervical dysfunction.3 Cervical qigongexercise is a simple,effective and safe treatment,especially for the recovery of cervical abnormal curvature which is prone to recurrence.It can effectively relieve the patient's pain and is expected to reduce the social medical burden.
