Since modern times,traditional Chinese medicine has suffered from the impact of Western medicine and government discrimination.First,there are "missing cases of traditional Chinese medicine" and then "abolishing cases of traditional Chinese medicine",facing the threat of extinction,traditional Chinese medicine urgently needs to prove its own survival value in order to restore national beliefs.After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1937,patriotic groups contributed to the Anti-Japanese War.The Chinese medicine community felt that the time was ripe for the establishment of a Chinese-style hospital.Under the leadership of Jiao Yitang,the director of the Central Chinese Medical Library,and Zhu Ziqiao,the chairman of the Central Zhenji Committee,with the help of charitable organizations and caring people,it promoted the establishment of a Chinese medicine ambulance hospital(the original name of the Chinese medicine relief hospital).With the purpose of treating the wounded,sick,soldiers and the poor,extensive relief has been given with the consent and support of the Central Committee for the Promotion of Economic Development,with remarkable results.Since its establishment in Nanjing on October 9,1937,the Chinese Medical Relief Hospital has actively supported the anti-Japanese war,transported medicines for the front line of the war,treated the disabled soldiers,and cared for the refugees,and always adhered to the intention of lenient relief.With the rapid decline of the anti-Japanese war,the Chinese medicine relief hospital moved westward to Chongqing with the government.It continued to provide extensive rescue in the rear of the war,to treat the wounded and refugees,to fulfill the relief mission,to show the heart of Chinese medicine to save the world,and to fulfill its rescue obligations.After relocating West to 62 Daliangzi Magnet Street in Chongqing,the Chinese Medical Relief Hospital adhered to the idea of combining the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine with emergency medication.It hired doctors and nurses,set up outpatient and inpatient departments to treat refugees and wounded soldiers free of charge.It continued to support the cause of the Anti-Japanese War and serve the people's livelihood,providing outpatient,referral,hospitalization,familyconsultants and school health consultants of government organizations.In the course of serving the war of resistance,the relief Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine insists on carrying forward the inherent specialty of the traditional Chinese medicine and carrying out the great aspiration of rescue,so as to strengthen the strength of the war of resistance,fulfill the responsibility of saving the country and make a lot of contributions.In Chongqing,branches have been set up in Fuzichi,Qingmuguan,Xiashin Street,Geleshan,Cave,Shapingba,Yaojiawan,etc.New clinics have been established in Tongyuan Gate,Caiyuan Dam,Huangshuya,Xiaolongkan and other places,while improving the system.Medical services in relief hospitals of traditional Chinese medicine not only contributed a lot to the war of resistance,reduced casualties,guaranteed national regeneration power and maintained social stability,but also contributed a lot to the prevention and treatment of epidemics in the rear,guidance of medical and health atmosphere in the accompanying capital,and rescue by bombing.However,the traditional Chinese medicine relief hospital has been relocated several times during the war,and its funds are short.Although it imitates the Western-style hospital,its essence is rare,which seriously affects its business activities and makes its management situation not optimistic.Moreover,because its fiscal revenue relies too much on government funding,it fails to form an effective self-sufficient fiscal revenue and expenditure system,which is difficult to sustain after the National Government's capital cut off,so it can only suspend medical treatment and go out of business.The relief Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has been an attempt to scientize TCM since modern times.Although it has not survived for a long time,it has made great contributions to the development of TCM,such as the war of resistance,the improvement of social civilization and health atmosphere,and the opening up of a survival and development route for the development of TCM.It is a pioneering initiative of integration of China and the West.Traditional Chinese medicine relief hospitals make contributions to the anti-Japanese war through practical actions and promote the further recognition of traditional Chinese medicine by the government.It not only improves the status of traditional Chinese medicine,but also seeks legal and political protection.It is a major development in the history of medicine.
