Objective:To detect the level of serum fibroblast growth factor 23(FGF23)and fibroblast growth factor 23(FGF23)in patients with ischemic stroke, and to explore the correlation between the level of serum fibroblast growth factor 23 and ischemic stroke.Methods:82 patients with ischemic stroke were selected as the case group, and 79 health examinees matched by age and sex in the same period were randomly selected as the control group. The National Institute of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)was used to assess the severity of neurological impairment, which was divided into mild group(NIHSS:0-4)and heavy group(NIHSS>5).The concentration of serum fibroblast growth factor 23 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results:(1)Compared with the control group, the number of hypertension and serum fibroblast growth factor 23 in the case group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P=0.003,P<0.001),and the HDL-C content in the case group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P=0.035),with no significant difference in other parameters. There was no significant difference between male and female.(2)Results The serum fibroblast growth factor 23 levels in the patients with hypertension and the control group were significantly higher than those in the patients without hypertension(P<0.001,P=0.007,respectively).There was no significant difference in the serum fibroblast growth factor 23 levels between the patients with hypertension and those without hypertension.(3)There was no significant difference in serum fibroblast growth factor 23 between diabetic patients and non-diabetic patients.(4)There was no significant difference in the content of fibroblast growth factor 23 between the heavy group and the light group.(5)Serum fibroblast growth factor 23 level was positively correlated with systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and cholesterol(P<0.001,P<0.001,P=0.034),negatively correlated with HDL-C(P=0.022);serum fibroblast growth factor 23 level was positively correlated with systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and cholesterol(P<0.001,P=0.002,P=0.027),negatively correlated with HDL-C(P<0.001);serum fibroblast growth factor 23 level in control group was not correlated with all parameters(P>0.05).(6)Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that serum fibroblast growth factor 23 and HDL-C were independent risk factors for ischemic stroke.(7)According to the ROC curve analysis of fibroblast growth factor 23,the increase of serum fibroblast growth factor 23 in the case group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.001).Conclusion:1.Serum fibroblast growth factor 23 levels were positively correlated with systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and cholesterol, but negatively correlated with HDL-C.2.Serum fibroblast growth factor 23 is an independent risk factor for ischemic stroke, suggesting that fibroblast growth factor 23 is involved in the pathological mechanism of ischemic stroke.
