Study On The Relationship Between Frailty And Care Dependence In Yanbian Area

Objective:To investigate the frailty syndrome and care dependency of Hospitalized elders in Yanbian area,and then explore their influencing factors.Analyze the relationship between the frailty syndrome and care dependency so as to provide the scientific reference for medical staff in identifying and managing and prevent frail.Method:By convenient sampling,336 elderly inpatients from the elderly ward of an affiliated hospital were recruited into this study.The general information questionnaire,Frail scale,and care dependency scale were available in this study.The data was processed by SPSS20.0 and EXCEL software.Result:(1)In this study,77.1%of subjects were clarified as frailty.The average frail score of hospitalized geriatric patients was(0.41±0.23),the average physical dimension score was(0.39±0.28),the average psychological dimension score was(0.47±0.25),and the social dimension score was(0.32±0.27),the average environmental dimension score is(0.45 ± 0.24).The multiple logistic regression showed that gender,age,monthly income,fall,drug,living alone were the major influential factors on frail showed statistically significant difference(P<0.05).(2)The care dependency score of subjects was(62.64±12.53).The physical dimension score was(39.90±7.50),and the psycho-social dimension score was(22.74±5.42).The multiple logistic regression showed that age,monthly income,smoking,comobidity,frail were the major influential factors on care dependency showed statistically significant difference(P<0.05).(3)There is a remarkable negative correlation between frailty and care dependency in Hospitalized elders.The frail score is high,while the care dependency score is low,then the elderly need more car(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1)The prevalence of frailty in Hospitalized elders was at a high level.The analysis showed that advanced age,female,living alone,the lower monthly income,polypharmacy are high risk factors which can lead to severer frailty.(2)When the Hospitalized elders have some characteristics,such as advanced age,the lower monthly income,smoking,and polypharmacy,they need more care dependency.(3)There was a significant negative correlation between frailty and care dependency.The higher frail scores represents the more dependency.(4)Frailty is a result of multiple factors.This study recommends that integrated measures should be implemented to reduce the frail incidence and prevent the frail process,and then Hospitalized elders can receive lower care dependency.
