Research On Wheezing Disease Based On Ancient Medical Literature

Wheezing disease is a morbid state marked by sudden oneset of gasping with wheezing sounds in the throat.The main manifestations are wheezing in the throat,tightness in the chest,shortness of breath and even inability to lie on one's back.Bronchial asthma,asthmatic bronchitis,eosinophilia(or other acute pulmonary allergic diseases),with phlegm wheezing and gasp the main manifestations,all belong to the wheezing disease in Chinese medicine.There are abundant records of etiology and pathogenesis,treatment principles and methods,treatment taboos and prescriptions of wheezing disease in ancient Chinese medical literature.Besides,the name of wheezing disease appeared in the Song Dynasty.Before this,the related discussion of the disease was scattered in dyspnea,cardiopulmonary qi,cough,Or it can be found in ancient documents with different names such as wheezing cough,asthma with wheezing and so on.The records of Wheezing disease in ancient medical books are confused,so clarifying the origin of Wheezing disease is helpful for scholars to better understand the concept of Wheezing disease in traditional Chinese medicine,and also for them to study Wheezing disease.This paper is divided into four parts to study Wheezing disease based on ancient medical literature.The first part defines the related concepts of wheezing disease in order to clarify the relationship among wheezing disease,dyspnea,asthma and bronchial asthma in Western medicine.The second part explores the understanding of Wheezing disease in ancient medical literature from five aspects:the origin of the disease name,etiology and pathogenesis,treatment principles and methods,and treatment taboos,and the records of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of Wheezing disease in ancient medical literature and we also analyses the inheritance relationship of some viewpoints.In the third part,we use statistical analysis of the data collected in the treatments related to Wheezing disease to explore the ancient medication and prescription laws of Wheezing disease in adults and children respectively.In the fourth part,the problems found in the research process are discussed,including the application of hijacking drugs in the treatment of Wheezing disease.To sum up,the study is expected to benefit the clinical treatment and research of Wheezing disease.
