Objective:By comparing and analyzing the combination of orthodontic and orthognathic treatment to adults patients with skeletal class III malocclusion. The X-ray lateral radiographs were used to compare the changes of facial soft and hard tissues in different treatment periods and evaluate the stability of the treatment. And finally provided a reference for the design, treatment and accurate analysis and prediction of orthognathic surgery. Methods:Sixteen Skeletal Class III malocclusion patients were selected by us in QiLu Hospital,College of Shandong University. All 16 patients employed orthodontic treatment with straight wire arch technique. The type of orthognathic was maxillary Lefort type I osteotomy + mandibular BSSRO.The average treatment time was 2.0±0.4 years. The total of 23 soft and hard tissues on the lateral slice of the skull before and after treatment were measured and analyzed, and the angles formed and the changes in the sagittal and vertical directions were compared.Statistical analysis and SNK-Q test of measurement results in different periods were performed using SPSS20.0 statistical software to study the changes of soft and hard tissues and short-term stability in different periods of treatment.Result:1.The comparison of soft and hard tissues between preoperative and before the treatment:There were 5 significant diversity among the 23 measurement, all of which were hard tissue measurement items. The U1-NA angle, the U1-NA distance, the L1-NB angle, the L1-NB distance, and the U1-Ll angle have significant diversity.2.The comparison of soft and hard tissues between postoperative and preoperative:Among the 23 measured tissues,U1-NA angle,U1-NA distance,L1-NB angle,L1-NB distance,U1-L1 angle,SE distance,Cm-Sn-UL angle,LL-Sn-Pog'distance,Si-LL-Pog' distance do not have significant diversity, and the remaining measurement items have significant diversity. What's more, the ANB angle and N'-Sn-Pog' angle change have extremely significant diversity.3.The comparison of soft and hard tissues between 3 months after surgery and 1 year after surgery:Although the 23 measurement tissues were partially changed, they do not have significant diversity.4.The comparison of soft and hard tissues between before the treatment and 1 year after surgery:The Cm-Sn-UL angle and LL-Sn-Pog' distance do not have significant diversity, and the other measurement items have significant diversity. The ANB angle have extremely significant diversityConclusion:1.Patients with skeletal class III malocclusion have a large degree of changes in the soft and hard tissues of the maxillofacial region after orthodontic treatment.2.There is a certain degree of change in the orthodontic treatment period from 3 months after surgery to 1 year after surgery, but it has no essential effect on the surgical result. The short-term treatment of patients'treatment was stable.3.Combine orthodontic and orthognathic therapy can achieve a good treatment results for those skeletal class III adult patients.
