| Objective: Oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)is one of the most common and frequent malignancies in the oral cavity. It is similar to gastrointestinal malignancy and squamous cell carcinoma in other parts of the body. This study was the first to investigate the specificity of VGLL-4 expression in oral squamous cell carcinoma.Secondly, the correlation between the expression of vgl-4 and the survival, recurrence, metastasis and other prognostic features of oral squamous cell carcinoma was analyzed.According to the relationship between vgll-4 and Hippo pathway,it is further proved that Hippo pathway is the key to the occurrence and development of tumor. Therefore, the clinical value and significance of VGLL-4 as a potential therapeutic target and prognostic evaluation indicator for oral squamous cell carcinoma were expanded. Methods: A total of 91 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma admitted to the department of maxillofacial oncology, the first affiliated hospital of xinjiang medical university from 2005 to 2016 were collected.Ten patients with oral lichen planus were taken as the control group, and paraffin sections were taken for immunohistochemical staining for semi-quantitative analysis.Retrospective analysis of the clinical manifestations and prognosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma,SPSS21.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results: vgll-4 expression in oral squamous cell carcinoma was lower than that in the control group, with statistical significance. The correlation analysis between vgll-4 expression in oral squamous cell carcinoma and its clinical characteristics showed no statistical significance, but it was correlated with the survival time of the tumor with prognostic characteristics, showing statistical significance. Conclusion: the low expression of vgll-4 in oral squamous cell carcinoma is positively correlated with the survival time of oral squamous cell carcinoma with tumor, which is statistically significant. It is associated with the biological behavior of oral squamous cell carcinoma and may be a new prognostic and therapeutic indicator for oral squamous cell carcinoma. |
