Objective:To analyze the characteristics of heart rate variability(HRV)and he art rate circadian rhythm in patients with vascular dementia(VaD),and further stu dy the relationship between VaD and autonomic function.Methods:66 patients with definite diagnosis of VaD were enrolled in the VD group.68 patients with demen tia-related cerebrovascular disease were matched with NVD group, and 66 healthy subjects were collected as healthy controls. All patients were admitted to the medic al records. And dynamic ECG data are complete.Observed indicators include: hear t rate variability index: SDNN(normal sinus heart rate RR interval total standard deviation),rMSSD(root mean square),pNN50(the number of heart beats of adjac ent RR interval length difference greater than 50 ms accounted for the total RR int erval Percentage)and heart rate circadian rhythm indicators: 24-hour average heart rate, daytime average heart rate, nighttime average heart rate, heart rate circadian r hythm and rhythm values. Results :In the healthy control group,NVD group and V D group, the differences of SDNN,rMSSD,Pnn50,nighttime average heart rate,24-hour average and heart rate circadian rhythm between, the three groups were statistically significant(P<0.05)..The three groups of SDNN,rMSSD,and pNN50 gradually de creased with the increase of the disease, and the heart rate variability of VD with cerebral infarction, hypertension, and diabetes was the most obvious. The abnormal degree of heart rate circadian rhythm was positively correlated with the number o f diseases. The more the disease, the more abnormal the heart rate circadian rhyth m,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion :HRV and heart rate circadian rhythm can be used as a reliable method for non-invasive quantitati ve evaluation of cardiac autonomic function.Simultaneous detection of heart rate ci rcadian rhythm and heart rate variability can improve the detection rate of autonomic dysfunction.Patients with VaD have obvious autonomic dysfunction, and it is n ecessary to monitor autonomic function.Early detection and early intervention are i mportant.
