| Objective:To observe the clinical effect of pricking collateral vessels by filiform fire needle and conventional acupuncture in treating pain due to knee osteoarthritis. To provide a simple, effective and objective treatment for pain of KOA,providing clinical basis for treating and screening therapy. Methods:Sixty cases of KOA were randomly divided into treatment group and control group according to the randomized table of Doll’s clinical cases.Thirty patients were treated with filiform fire needle on pricking collateral vessels and conventional acupuncture at the knee for 3 times a week.In the control group,30 cases were treated with conventional acupuncture for 6 times a week, all of them were treated for 4 weeks. The Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)before treatment, after 1st treatment and 1week treatment,2weeks treatment,3weeks treatment, and 4 weeks treatment,Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)before treatment and after 4 weeks of treatment were observed and compared. Results:The pain was relieved in both groups after 1st treatment, but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).After 1 week,2 weeks,3 weeks and 4 weeks of treatment, the VAS score of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05);After 4 weeks, the total score, pain score, and difficulty in daily operations score of WOMAC in the treatment group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference of the stiff score between the two groups(P>0.05);After 4 weeks, the effective rate was 72.41% in the treatment group and 32.14% in the control group. There was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:Conventional acupuncture and combined with filiform fire needle on pricking collateral vessels both have a certain therapeutic effect. On the basis of conventional acupuncture, combined with filiform fire needle on pricking collateral vessels can better treat pain and joint function of KOA. |
