Objective: By observing the effect of acupoint catgut embedding and common acupuncture on serum uric acid(UA)and syndrome integral in patients with hyperuricemia to confirme the efficacy of acupoint catgut embedding on hyperuricemia and provide new insights into clinical diseases treatment.Methods:60 patients with hyperuricemia, whose clinical syndrome differentiation of TCM was consistent with spleen deficiency and dampness syndrome, were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, each with acupoint catgut embedding and acupuncture. The two groups of patients were observed before and after treatment for statistical evaluation and analysis.,including UA and TCM syndromes.Results:1.Intra-group comparison: There was a significant difference between the two groups in UA levels after treatment and before treatment(P<0.01).There was a significant difference between the two groups of TCM syndromes after treatment and before treatment(P<0.01).2.Comparison between groups: There was no significant difference between the two groups in improving the efficacy of UA(P>0.05).Compared with common acupuncture, catgut embedding at acupoints had significant differences in improving TCM syndromes(P<0.05).After treatment, there was a significant difference in the total effective rate between acupoint catgut embedding and commonacupuncture(P<0.05).Conclusion: Acupoint catgut embedding and acupuncture both can improve the UA and syndrome scores of patients. The embedding of acupoints is effective in improving TCM syndromes, and its advantage of quick operation, low frequency, and long-lasting curative effect is more conducive to clinical promotion.
