Objective:To investigate the epidemiological characteristics, pathogen spectrum, drug sensitivity and treatment stutas of fungal keratitis in North Zhejiang. Methods:The demographic characteristics, pathogenic fungi strain, drug susceptibility and treatment status of 197 patients(197 eyes)who were diagnosed with fungal keratitis from July 2011 to Jun 2016 at the Eye centers of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University were collected and analyzed.Results:132 patients were male while 65 were femal, the ratio was 2.03:1.The patients aged 23?85 years old.The average age was 58.41 ± 10.95 years.129 cases(65.48%)were in the age from 51 to 70 years. The peak of FK occurred in October to December,a total of 104 cases, accounting for 52.79%.The fungal isolates were of Aspergillus species in 94 eyes(47.71%),Fusarium species in 64 eyes(30.46%)and Alternaria species in 28 eyes(14.21%).In vitro susceptibility test showed that the susceptibility of the three major fungi to nystatin and amphotericin B was greater than 80%,while it was less than 20%to fluconazole.187 patients were cured by drug treatment. Conclusions:In North Zhejiang, the peak of FK occurred in October to December. Most of the patients were the middle and old-aged male person. The Aspergillus and Fusarium species were the main pathogen of FK.In vitro susceptibility test showed that the susceptibility of the three major fungi to nystatin and amphotericin B was greater than the other 5 drugs.
