Objective: To study the status of enamel demineralization in different stages of invisible orthodontic treatment and enamel demineralization before and after traditional fixed orthodontic treatment,in order to understand the status of enamel demineralization during invisible orthodontic treatment and whether the use of traditional fixed appliance and bracketless invisible appliance will have different effects on enamel demineralization. Methods: 19 patients(including a total of 422 teeth)were selected from Stomotology Hospital of Shenyang for Invisalign treatment, including 2 males and 17 females, with an average age of 23.9Y.According to the treatment stage,it is divided into pre-treatment(T0),treatment at 6 months(T1),treatment at 12 months(T2),and treatment at 18 months(T3).Fixed appliance group randomly selected from the patients who were under treatment in Stomotology Hospital of Shenyang, the 53 patients(a total of 1204 teeth)included 7 males and 46 females, with a mean age of 17.3Y.According to the treatment stage,it is divided into pre-treatment(T4)and after-treatment(T5).The researcher observed the three standard intraoral photos(including a frontal photo,a left and a right side photos)of each patient participating in the study, and recordd and counted the situation of enamel demineralization of these patients. The tooth position in this study includes 16-26+36-46,and the missing teeth or extracted teeth were not recorded. Results: 1.In the process of invisible orthodontic treatment, the degree of demineralization of enamel was aggravated at 6 months,12 months and 18 months after treatment,P<0.05,there was statistics significance.2.In the early stage of treatment(at 6 months),the attachment had a significant effect on the growth of enamel demineralization,P<0.05,there was statistically significant;at 12 months and 18 months, the attachment had no significant effect on the growth of enamel demineralization,P>0.05,there was no statistical significance.3.In addition to the treatment stage of 6 months, the number of maxillary demineralized teeth was significantly higher than that of mandibular demineralized teeth before treatment,12 months of treatment and 18 months of treatment,P<0.05,there wasstatistically significant.4.Before the invisible treatment,at 6 months,at 12 months and at 18 months, the number of teeth in 1 degree enamel demineralization was significantly more than 2degrees demineralized teeth,P <0.05,there was statistically significant.Experiment 2:5.After fixed orthodontic treatment, the incidence of enamel demineralization increased significantly. The number of teeth in the upper enamel that were demineralized was significantly higher than that in the mandibular teeth. The number of teeth in 1 degree enamel demineralization was significantly more than that in 2 degrees,P < 0.05,there was statistical significance.6.Compared with conventional fixed treatment, the bracketless invisible treatment reduced enamel demineralization, but there was no statistical difference between them.Conclusion:1.At 6 months of the stage of the bracketless invisible treatment, the enamel demiineralization has obvious growth, and the attachment has obvious influence on enamel demineralization. With the prolonged treatment time, the enamel demineralization grows slowly, regardless of the presence of attachments, and the presence of attachments has no significant effect on the presence of enamel demineralization.2.During the different stages of invisible orthodontic treatment and after traditional fixed treatment, the number of upper enamel demineralized teeth was more than that of mandibular teeth, and the number of 1 degree enamel demineralized teeth was significantly more than that of 2 degrees.3.After traditional fixed treatment, the enamel demineralization increased significantly;compared with fixed treatment, the bracketless invisible treatment reduced the occurrence of enamel demineralization, but there was no significant difference between the two methods.
