PurposeThrough 24 weeks of exercise intervention, the intervention effect of balance ability of patients with Parkinson's disease in both self-choreographed exercise group and Wuqinxi group is observed to provide a valuable reference for choosing related exercise to improve the balance ability of patients with Parkinson's disease in the future.MethodsThe subjects of this study were 48 patients with Parkinson's disease with stage 1-3 of Hoehn-Yahr(H-Y).They were divided into 2 groups:24 patients in the self-exercise choreographed group and 24 patients in the Wuqinxi group. All subjects met the inclusion criteria. Before the experiment, the subjects understood the purpose and significance of the experiment and signed the informed consent. The experimental scheme was approved by the Shanghai University of Sport Ethics Committee. These two groups took 24 weeks of exercise intervention, twice a week for 90 minutes each time. The heart rate of the subjects was monitored using polar heart rate chart, and the exercise intensity was controlled at 40-60%HRmax.Observational primary indexes included sensory organization test conditions 1-6,duration time of static equilibrium of unilateral stance with opening and closing eyes, maximum excursion of limit of stability test, endpoint excursion and directional control(range: 0-100%);Secondary indexes included height, weight, quiet heart rate, blood pressure and movement ability score of UPDRS.All indexes were taken three times in the pre-intervention,middle(in the 12 nd week)and latter(in the 24 th week). The SPSS24.0 was employed for statistical analysis. The repeated measurement ANOVA was used to analyze the difference between the self-choreographed exercise group and the Wuqinxi group in the pre-intervention,middle and later test indexes.P<0.05 showed statistical significance.Results1.After 24 weeks of exercise intervention, the score of sensory integration test condition 5(62.97 ±10.69 ?73.63 ±9.96 points)and condition 6(55.81± 13.74 ?58.56± 10.97 points)in self-choreographed exercise group showed significant improvement in(p<0.05)Conditions 1-4 had no significantly change.Conditions 1-6 in Wuqinxi group had no significantly change(p>0.05).The difference of two groups was not significant(p>0.05).2.After 24 weeks of exercise intervention, the duration time of unilateral stance of left foot with opening eyes(6.34 ±3.17 ?7.64 ±2.31 s)and closing eyes(3.67± 1.95 ? 3.74± 1.75 s)and it of right foot with opening eyes(6.68± 2.74?7.13± 2.56 s)in static balance of patients with Parkinson's disease's in the self-choreographed exercise group were slightly increased. The difference of two groups was not significant(p>0.05).The duration time of unilateral stance of left foot with closing eyes(3.36±2.41 ?3.43±2.04 s),and it of right foot with closing eyes(3.36±1.58?3.99±2.10 s)in Wuqinxi group were slightly increased. The difference of two groups was not significant(p>0.05).3.After 24 weeks of exercise intervention, endpoint excursion on backward direction in limit of stability in self-choreographed exercise group(45.54 ±18.76 ? 53.50± 20.56 %)showed a significant increase(p<0.05).There was no significant change on other directions(p>0.05).The difference of two groups was not significant(p>0.05).The maximum excursion on forward direction(71.08±19.91?79.66±18.17%)and endpoint excursion(53.21±19.36?60.08±20.27%)of patients with Parkinson's disease in the Wuqinxi group showed a significant increase(p>0.05).There was no significant change on other directions(p>0.05).The difference of two groups was not significant(p>0.05).Endpoint excursion on left and right between two group had significant difference(p<0.05).4.24 weeks after the exercise intervention, movement balance score of UPDRS?(14.50±9.76?11.46±9.71 points)in self-choreographed exercise group had significant decrease(p<0.05).The score of Wuqinxi group had no significant change(p>0.05).The difference of two groups was not significant(p>0.05).ConclusionsThe balance ability of patients with Parkinson's disease in the self-choreographed exercise group has more significant improved effect than it in Wuqinxi group and gets the best effect in 12 nd week.
