Objective:The study is aim to investigate the characteristic of inflammatory cytokines IL-17 and IL-23 in peripheral blood in Parkinson's disease(PD)patients. Methods :The peripheral blood of 50 patients with PD(PD group)and 60 healthy controls(control group)matched by sex and age were collected. The levels of IL-17 and IL-23 in serum were detected by biotin double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The condition of PD patients was assessed by UPDRS III.According to age, sex, course of disease,H-Y stage, cognitive impairment and constipation,PD patients were grouped. Results: The serum levels of IL-17 and IL-23 in patients with PD were higher than those in healthy control group(t=3.08,P=0.003;Z=-2.776,P=0.005).The serum levels of IL-17 in patients with PD were significantly different according to age, course of disease and H-Y stage(t=2.339,P=0.024;t=5.332,P=0.000;t=-3.953,P=0.000).The serum levels of IL-17 in patients with PD were positively correlated with age and course of disease.(r = 0.385,r = 0.598,P < 0.05),but there was no correlation with H-Y staging. The level of serum IL-17 in patients with cognitive impairment was higher than that in patients without cognitive impairment(t=6.851,P=0.000).The level of serum IL-17 in patients with constipation was higher than that in patients without constipation(t=3.487,P=0.001).There was no significant difference in the level of serum IL-17 by sex(P>0.05).The levels of IL-23 in serum of PD group were compared according to sex,age,H-Y stage, course of disease, cognitive impairment and constipation. There was no significant difference among the groups(P > 0.05).Conclusions:1.The serum levels of IL-17 and IL-23 in patients with PD are higher than those in healthy people, which may play a role in the pathogenesis of PD.2.The serum IL-17 level in patients with cognitive impairment and constipation was higher than that in patients without cognitive impairment and constipation.3.The longer the course and severity of PD,the higher the level of serum IL-17.
